I’ve been grinding IG outreach for a month straight and I’m honestly confused at this point.

I’m offering Shopify store setup + social media marketing specifically for ecommerce brands in the UAE. I’m targeting the accounts that don’t even have a website and are still selling only through Instagram. You’d think they’d be the easiest people to convert, right? Apparently not.

I’ve tried every DM angle I can think of:
– Direct pitch: “Hey, I noticed you don’t have a website…”
– Curiosity bait: “Hello, are you accepting more orders?”
– Soft intros, value-first messages, different tones, different times of day… everything.

Results so far:
– Hundreds (maybe over a thousand) DMs sent
– Most don’t even open the message
– The few who open it leave me on seen
– The only positive replies come from the “are you accepting more orders?” line, but the convo dies the moment I shift to the actual offer

At this point I’m trying to understand what’s broken.
Is IG outreach just done?
Are UAE ecommerce brands ignoring anything business-related?
Or is this niche just a brick wall for cold DMs?

If anyone has cracked Instagram outreach for service offers recently, I’d appreciate any real insights.

Instagram outreach remains viable but response rates are low unless you demonstrate credibility quickly and offer clear immediate value that directly addresses the recipient’s current needs
 
Many UAE brands feel Instagram alone is enough. Highlight real problems they face, not just your solution, to get attention.
 
Cold dms can be tough in that market. Sometimes joining relevant online groups or communities first, then reaching out, creates a lot more trust than messaging strangers out of the blue.
 
You should hire a professional for this and compare the results. Stick with him if roi is positive.

brother, thank you for making this thread. i'm an SMM too, how do you grow instagrams in UAE with low followers? (below 300 followers?)
 
From what I see, IG outreach still works well when the offer is strong and the first message grabs attention fast.
 
Cold IG DMs are just getting ignored now, especially by small UAE sellers who get spammed daily; switching to warm angles, story replies, engagement first, then a light offer usually gets far better response than straight pitches.

Does it actually impact %DMs going to primary vs Requests ?

Mine mostly go to Requests section.
 
First and foremost selling web services in Instagram doesn't work quite good, it depends a lot how you do it. It simply doesn't work because Instagram it's not the place. People come on Instagram to be entertained mostly and some of them become clients but first they are entertained so make sure you start with that.

Cold reaching has a <0.1% success rate without proper warming up the lead. So if you do cold dm, the success rate it's even lower, the dm will hit the spam inbox most of the time. Just start acting extremelly human and friendly: start following people, like their post, watch their story, comment on their story and if they follow back, then hit them with a DM not beforehand. Doing thousands of DM won't get you there, but taking 2-5 leads per day and doing what I've said above have more success chances.
