Yes, increase Jr.VIP price. For example to $150/year. What to do with additional $50? Gather all money each 3 months and spread between moderators. I've heard many times "we work for free", so let's give them part of the cake.

I think if you were to ask a majority of the non-paid mods/staff, they wouldn't expect or want to be paid.
Maybe, but this would be a great "tip" for their work. We can do it each 3 years.

The moderators are already experienced guys making good money as they have mastered specific niches or methods. This additional money would not make a big difference. Also, the $100 price mark just sounds right for JR VIP.

Volunteer Mods do it for a love of the forum, if you pay them then it becomes an obligation and I doubt the pay would be enough for their time.
It would possibly have a detrimental effect on forum moderation.

I think there are a few perks offered to Mods but even offering a personal gift to a Mod could be considered trying to influence them.

Anyway, this is down to mods and admin.

Make sense, thx for clarification, thread to close ;)

I can't tell you how many times we get hit with, "You sided with him because he pays for Jr Vip."

I'd rather not get paid so there can be no possibility that the financial health of the forum ties into the content health and that we cannot be accused of anything untoward.

I've told Damien that if he wants to buy me a drink one day that is fine as long as he allows me to reciprocate but I don't want his money.

I think an extra $50 per Jr VIP would be better used in investing in improving the forum.

I can say with certainty that most of the mods I know and speak to, wouldn't accept any money for their work.

Also, the $100 price mark just sounds right for JR VIP.

In the grand scheme of things, I think it's extremely cheap. This is what other private forums cost per month and there is as much info on here as there.

Yes, the price is extremaly low ;) but if we increase it much, then forum will suffer.

As I've said before - make Market Place Sellers pay an incremental subscription based on the age and number of responses in their BSTs.

$100 is a decent price, no need to increase it. There are already extra fees for having a thread.

Happy for it to stay at $97+VAT. I have not looked at the financials for BHW (company) on companies house, but I am sure they are doing very well. Mods do an excellent job but if you pay them, make them staff and pay them properly.

As for improving the forum. What needs improving? I can search just fine, have private conversations and keep a history, list my services/product, engage with customers and support the community. Personally, I do not do the selling bit but the rest works just fine.

Definite perks for mods = moderating new services (ultimate freebies).

I also assume that most if not all mods have the time to support the community as they are doing just fine from an IM/business perspective and spend most of their time in and around BHW/Internet.

I also assume that most if not all JnrExecs are focused more on their business than BHW unless the 2 overlap, and they provide guidance and a trusted voice, otherwise, they would likely be Mods (time constraints).

Well that is my two penneth.

mods are already making money, also they have high knowledge than other members, that's why they are moderators. they don't do the work for making money. It is an honor to work as a moderator...

and what's the value added for us for the extra $50 ? if I want to donate I would like to donate for orphans , refugees .... not for ppl already making good income .

Since moderators can test services for free i think that is already a good payment without having real money in the middle. Just plain old school trading ^_^
