I got a warning for inappropriate content for posting a pirate bay link to some content.

"Please do not discuss content of this nature on our site. This does not follow our rules. Your message may have been removed or altered.

Your account's access may be limited based on these actions. Please keep this in mind when posting or using our site."

I can't find anything in the rules about posting a link to a site like the pirate bay as long as the content isn't some hacking program.

I believe that it states warez or warez type of content. PB, more or less the same.

I'm sure you responded to the PM from the Mod with something like this, right?

Hi Mod - I'm sorry as that was not my intention nor do I see it anywhere in the rules. Could you do me a favor when you get some time and explain that to me so I understand as I do want to be following the rules?

I'd sure appreciate it.

P.S. Also, I do want to thank you for working for free to help keep BHW a positive place for all of us.

The link you shared was nudes leaked during the fappening.

How is this appropriate content on an SEO forum?

99.99% of the lounge is not hacked nudes that were never meant for release...

Stop being ridiculous.

They were already released, someone using them for uploading to a ppv adult image host or behind a content locker(some IM uses) wouldn't be hacking, even downloading them isn't hacking. It would be copyright infringement.

Lots of porn sites linked here and a method encouraging copyright infringement.

We're not against the porn industry on the forum, an adult section is being considered internally as it's own forum...

But what you linked to was people's nudes that were stolen/hacked/leaked.

Can you really not see how what you did was silly and inappropriate?

So nudes that are leaked are not allowed, but if someone links content that was leaked ahead of time for anything else its okay or any other stolen content such as movies, tv shows, music.

AFAIK all torrent links have always been banned on BHW, and people usually advised to search their favourite torrent site.

Think @WizGizmo may have covered it in a previous thread/post. Or I could just be imagining it.

To better understand the rules this is true?

Allowed:
Posting direct download links to stolen content such as software and themes
Create a BST to provide a service to help those wanting to commit criminal copyright infringement(DMCA Ignored hosting).
Linking to a streaming site so people can illegally watch sporting events
Posting links to a site where people can illegally watch movies,tv shows, video games and music.
Promote criminal activities such as downloading and re uploading copyrighted media content.

Not Allowed:
Linking to the fappening or anything similar to it

Dude, you should chill on this occasion.

Linking to The Fappening has legal consequences as the photos were hacked.

Although I don't post a lot on the forum, I do have enough experience being a member since 2010 to give an opinion. For any Mod/Staff member to give their time to the forum is commendable, I think we can all agree to that. We as members should understand they're not robots when deciding what's an infraction. It's not always black and white as rules can be interpreted differently. A Mod probably takes into account the "spirit" of the rules too, along with what is actually written. So naturally you'll see cases where a ruling/infraction is applicable in one case but not another, albeit both cases look similar on their face.

I myself recently received 2 infractions where I could make a case against it, but when I looked at the "spirit" of the infraction rather than the words, then I realized they had cause to issue me one. As much as we would like to have clear-cut rules, its not very practical. Even the courts make rulings on the spirit of the law when a statute is not well defined. Many times I had cases dropped even when I could prove the Defendant broke the law. The Judge would review the law/statute with its original intent and sometimes rule against me. These things happen everyday in life and it translates into BHW as well.
