Search console is unable to fetch my sitemap. My posts are not getting indexed. How to fix it?

You should check if the sitemap is loading in a browser. If the sitemap isn't loading, then open permalinks and click save (no need to make any changes). It generally fixes the problem.

- test the sitemap. go to yoursite.com/sitemap.xml see if it exists.
- Check it's not being blocked by robots.txt (easy way is to go to yoursite.com/robots.txt), google has a robots.txt checker too ->

- remove it and resubmit it
- Wordpress? Install Yoast and resubmit sitemap
- Check it's not an HTML generated sitemap. Google expects an xml file.
