I want to play with the IM script that I see in action on Yahoo messenger. It is a sales script, like the automated "virtual assistant" some people have on their web sites. It has a few responses.. maybe 6 or 7 and finally gives you the (usually pr0n) link it was supposed to give. It starts by requesting you add them over and over, and then if you DO accept the user, goes through its canned spiel, but like the virtual assistant, it doesn't seem canned. Dumb and unsophisticated usually, but you won't realize it is a robot unless you try to take the conversation off track. Ask what city it lives in, for instance. This is only slightly related to SEO. I am thinking about developing a python script to do something like this, but add a learning loop, so it gets better and better at answering off-topic stuff. It would probably be possible to develop a legitimate purpose for it - maybe a catalog deepener.. something that comes up and asks what the user likes best about the item they are buying, and offers a special deal..
