Im quitting smoking cigarettes

just dont go into markets. thats what ive been doing

Ive was a smoker for good on 10 years from about the age of 16. Used to sell loose cigs at school, sold about 30 a day at a massive markup!

I bought a electric cig and it didnt help one bit and i tried nicorette gum. i eventually ended up using the batch and dropping the strength down once a week. I was smoking a pack a day for a few years of my 10 and so started on the strongest strength. Then went medium and then mild after a week on each strength.I havent had a cig in over 4months thought truth be told ive actually had dreams about it. No bs ive actually dreamt i was sitting on a couch watching Liverpool and smoking with the smoking very vivid in the dream!

I feel a lot better though, dont use my asthma pump as much anymore and dont wake up feeling as crap. In addition my sense of smell and taste has improved to what i assume are normal levels again.Ive picked up a bit of weight though with me always peckish initially.

Anyways, subscribed and good luck. you'll never walk alone mate.

Nicotine is just as addictive as heroin or cocaine you just need to realize it is not going to be easy. I was only able to quit by lowering the amount of cigarettes that I smoke. From a pack a day to 15, 15-10, 10-7, etc. As you get to 4-1 per day your body is not needing it that much and it will make it a lot easier to go throughout your day not smoking

I got some experience in that department.
I quit smoking about 4 times lol
The key to success is that you need to want to quit smoking.
Good luck ;)

I want quite cigarets so bad too. But there is another problem. The problem is a beer. :)

Hey,

This is my 4th day not smoking. I went from 2 packs a day and quitting cold turkey. I've been pretty irritable, and felt kind of "out of it" all week. I have had trouble sleeping as well, especially last night. It was almost feverish - like I'm getting over a cold or something..

The only advice I can give you, is that right when you wonder whether a cigarette will make you feel better, is to just not believe it. Cigarettes make you feel like sh*t and when you forget that, you will probably start up again.

As for breaking the habit (which is the hardest for me), you just gotta have a little will power. If you are serious and do not WANT to smoke anymore, there is nothing that can stop you. You will feel sick for 3-5 days tops, but that's it. You really don't need any of that stop smoking aids I found they never helped me one bit. Once you get used to not smoking you will be fine. Have faith in yourself and soon you will be saving so much money and will feel wayyyyy better. Trust me! :)

As soon as we found out we were having a baby my wife quit INSTANTLY! been 8 months ago now and she is doing great!

all the best of luck! you can do it lol

Hey, Well done for making the decision to quit - You can join my club now, the NON SMOKERS CLUB!

in three days time i will be off them 1 year, I have have never felt better :) no more choking and coughing in the mornings & evenings AND I HAVE ADDED 10 YRS TO MY LIFE!

how did i do it? HYPNOTHERAPY

I had tried hypnotherapy in the past and lasted 4 month, and then i was doing my final exams in college and went back on them out of pure boredom, most stupid mistake of my life as i continued smoking then for the next 7 yrs ( di*ck head)

Last year when i was studying to be a hypnotherapist ( now qualified) i was asked if i wanted to be a Guinea pig as the instructor needed a someone he could demonstrate on, I knew I needed to give up smoking this time round as my son was due to be born in the January and I made a commitiment that he would never see his dad as a smoker..... so now i really wanted to give up, and thats the key.

...YOU HAVE TO WANT TO STOP SMOKING OTHERWISE YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND WILL NOT TAKE ON THE STOP SMOKING SUGGESTIONS...

If you really want a pain free way to stop smoking, download a good stop smoking hypnosis torrent, set a "give up" date and stick to it. When the date arrives ( and no, i dont mean 6 months away, lol)

1.kick everyone out of the house for two hours
2. use the toilet before the session ( seriously)
3. lie on a comfortable chair, and LISTEN to the stop smoking session

Listening to the cd, is just as effective as going to a hypnotherapist the only difference is the price,

The cd will work 100% if you take on the suggestions with the attitude " I like that suggestion, I want that suggestion"( ie. when the hypnotherapist says, for example, "smoking to you is now disgusting", you will want to have the attitude, I like what he is saying, i agree with what he is saying, and your subconscious mind will take on that new way of thinking)....and thats it!

so stay positive, you can do it and i promise you that if you set a date and get the idea into your head that WHEN you do give up you will be around your family for ten years more because of the decision you made today, you will be damm proud that you made the right choice, cause there is no point been on your death bed ten years too early trying to explain to your kids that you were too lazy to give them up!

I wish you the best of luck and by the way, I have a very good positive relaxation cd that i only give out to clients when they come to see me, if you or anyone else here would like a copy, just pm me and i will send you a download link with a heart and a half... it is fantastic for anyone who has just quit smoking or is stressed and i guarantee. by listening to the cd at night, it will be the best nights sleep that you will have ever got!

At $50+ a carton I don't have to worry about smoking. I am to much of a tight wad to waste my money on that habit.

I pray that you will have success quitting. I know it is a hard habit to break.

Two years of not smoking, I prefer my sons to have a dad past 50

Put that money to better use (Invest in IM) and think to yourself " Do i really want an early grave " each time you get a craving :)

Also jogging and general fitness training is a good way to stop the crave , Plus it will make you fitter and get rid of that smokers tight chest !

I quited too, soon 2 months :D the first 3 - 4 days are hardest then around the later 2 -3 weeks you may miss the smoke sometimes. 1 month later and i were like brand new non smoker!

what i did the 3 first days:
i decided to quit in the weekend so I didn't go out (didn't meet any friends, many of them smokes) whenever i felt i wanted a smoke i ate something like snikers :D i remeber the first week i became very upset over small things. just let it out you'll feel better, but when you get upset never ever take a smoke!

Good luck man!

I recommend that you start with light cigarettes.

Everyone I know who has smoked (including quite a few in my family) either are dead, dying, or they're living horrible quality of life (respirators and continual coughing).

If you don't know anyone like that, maybe you should look around a little bit and fine some. Fear will do wonders for helping you quit.

I've never smoked, but I'm pretty attached to coca cola. But if I saw everyone drinking coke keeling over dead, I'd be off it instantly.

With the exception of the few smokes I had last night while downing a few beers...I quit 'cold turkey' on New Years Eve...and while an hour or two here or there have been hard, I've just focused on the fact that I'm in my early 40's and don't really want to die of throat cancer...or any other cancer for that matter...and that mind-set has worked pretty good over the last few days!

2ndly..at just under $8.00 dollars for a pack x 30 days (On Average) in a month, that equals $240 dollars a month spent on smokes that I can't afford right now and how I've been managing to do that has been a mystery for the last year or so!... :)

Good luck and don't look back!

I'm determined to quit this year, after many failed attempts. I'm living in the Philippines, where I am building my team and SEO business, and smoking here is extremely accepted and a pack of Marlboros is less than $1! So it's not the easiest environment for quitting.

If I can offer any advice (as I write this, I'm chomping on a piece of Nicorette) is that you've got to "reframe" the way you view smoking. Most smokers fail to quit because even they know they SHOULD quit, they think of smoking as a "pleasure" that they deserve, and they'd be "giving something up" by quitting.

On the contrary...you've got to frame your attitude to believe, you are doing yourself a tremendous FAVOR by quitting. You're not "losing" anything. You're gaining health and peace of mind and many other important things.

Chantix works. I quit in Jan of 2009 and haven't smoked since. I used it for about 3 weeks. I used chantix because I know a guy whos grandma quit using it for a few weeks and she smoked for 30+ years before that.

In reality ALL addictions are the SAME; the only difference is they have different consequences. For example a person addicted to drinking may have to deal with the consequences of liver failure, drunk driving arrests, etc.

Whereas a person addicted to ice cream might not have to deal with being arrested for a DUI but they have to deal with the consequences of being overweight, developing diabetes, etc.

My point is, the people who are able to defeat their particular addiction and remain free, don't trade/swap addictions. This is all about you taking command of your body as opposed to you acquiescing to your body's cravings. With that type of control, you will never succumb to any other harmful addiction.

I remember when I quit smoking. It was in the year 2001, I was 7. It was also the same day I had my first cigarette.

True story bro.
