I like this part..

"so. next time people say , proxygo yeh hes that rude guy"

lol

..but I hope you do figure something out soon to take the pain away.. or mask for some relief.

I hope you feel better. Back pain isn't something that you mess with. It hurts all the time. And the bad thing about it is once it starts, it seems that it never stops. I hope you get better and the pain eases away, Cheers.

my failings by working twice as hard

I have zero experience on this topic, so I can't give you advice.

I hope you can find something that helps, there are always exceptions to the rule- so don't like degeneration depress you.

On a side-note... Good to see Blueturtle back on the forum!

well 2 months ive waited for a result from an mri scan on my lower
back - not the news i wanted .

L4/5 degenerative disc protrusion
episodic acute back spasms
walks with a side lumber [ like house without the stick ]
spinal surgery will not help .

so. next time people say , proxygo yeh hes that rude guy,
remember, i maybe rude in nature , but being in pain 24/7
doesn't help either .

I'm sorry to hear this Proxygo, you will be in my prayers. I saw that in this thread somewhere you asked if anyone knew some good herbal remedies or anything like that to help you with it. I did a little searching around and found this, thought it may be of some use to you.
Herbal Treatments

Certain herbal remedies, in conjunction with acupuncture and prolotherapy, may successfully treat the pain and discomfort associated with your degenerative disc. Devil's claw and white willow bark are among the most commonly used herbal treatments for back pain and degenerative discs , although other herbal treatments, such as arnica, burdock, slippery elm and cayenne, may also be effective. Some of these herbs possess analgesic, or pain-relieving, action.
An Effective Herb

Arnica is an herbal treatment that may be effective in treating your degenerative disc. It has anti-inflammatory properties and has been used to treat many types of musculoskeletal conditions, including backache and sore muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. Arnica boosts your circulation, has immune-enhancing effects and possesses mild pain-relieving activity. Certain parts of the arnica plant, especially the flower heads, are used in herbal preparations.

Help this helps you, man. Keep your thoughts positive.

Go get some rest. We all need it at some point and yours is entirely justified.

First thing: I'm sorry to hear about your condition.
Second thing, buddy, who the fuck is telling you surgery is not an option??? I don't want to be sarcastic but what kind of medical care are you getting? Are you in the US?
i
I had the EXACT same thing 20 years ago. This is SO correctable!

They can either shave down the protuding portion of your disc (which is what I had) or they can remove it and fuse the 2 vertabrae together.
Are you suffering from sciatica due to this?

You need to get to another doctor if at all possible.

Sorry to Hear that BackPains are really Careful
A Desi Trick is to make a Foam of Wheat Crushed and sleep on that it is good for Back pains
Will take some time Though

really Sorry to hear about that proxygo, stay motivated and you will see signs of recovery. Keep experimenting with therapies and you'll eventually find something that works for you.

Drinking ample amounts of water everyday can seriously improve recovery and pain by reducing inflammation around your nerves. It's simple and easy, I hope you try that and light exercise everyday. And pharmaceutical drugs aren't designed to cure anything, especially pain killers. I've known people that have gotten addicted to that stuff and ruined their lives.

hey man, just wanted to say that, at times people think that its not gonna happen but it does. Just dont think that it wont heal. Have selfbelief and then i believe that
you should go for the herbs etc kinda thingy. Further do some acupuncture

thanks

Sorry to hear proxygo! I broke my spine last year and I can say it definitely was not fun. Best of luck to you!

Im so sorry to hear that. And I've never seen a rude post of yours so no worries.

I pulled a muscle in my back and chest in one day and ended up in the emergency room and that was MINOR. I was in so much pain for a week and wanted to break down by the end. I can't imagine a full time back injury. After experiencing that pain for a short time I realised that it would probably be one of the most upsetting types of pain. Its at the core of your body, its what holds you up!! Its essential to your daily comfort and needs that it is in working order and I can only imagine how depressed your feeling right now.

I live with a degenerative hip disease daily ( will need a replacement one day ) and can still say that was the worst week of pain yet.

Keep your head up and carry on. One day you will be on stronger pain killers and I know your not keen on it but it will help.

my back specialist said and i quote this from the letter [ UK ]
and i have 2 worn out discs - not 1.. but there not togther
there is 1 good disc between the 2 bad discs and thats why
spinal fussion they said is not a good idea because it would
require a steal rod inserted in my back. thats my translation.

heres the actual version

on examination he walks with left side lumberlist . tender over the
lumbosacral joint and the sarcroiliac area.
mri shows lower 2 lumber discs with left side defuse disc bulge
at level 4/5.

at this stage i dont think a discectomy isnt going to make much difference
considering the level 2 degenerative discs i dont want to recommend spinal surgery
for him. conservative approach gives longer better results.
suggestions - exercise - walking/cycling/hydro therapy to keep him going
have also advised when he starts these activities his pain will get worse but
wont harm him.

Good fucking God. And people in the US want to go with govt health care.
I'll pm you bro

thats the short version on the letter - heres the technical mri
actual hospital version .

Mri report of the lumber spine .
there are small marginal osteophytes, undulating endplates with small
schmoral nodes and disc dehydration at the lower thoracic and uper lumber spine.
at t11/t12 there is a left paracentral disc bulge.
at l4/l5 there are small posterior osteophytes and a left lateral disc protrusion that
impinges upon the emerging l5 nerve root associated with facet joint hypertrophy.
small perineural nerve root sheath cyst, tarlov syst at the sacral level

Everything is possible my friend. You could be healed.

I'm from germany and I have good connections to real healing alternative medicine people. Even If I don't know you personally, I know exactly how you could be cured.

However your own limited beliefs and your ego will keep you from being healed with this way.. if you are like all the others, that suffer and complain. There is a solution to every problem. But the next problem is - do you know the solution ? I have all the necessary information to heal allmost everyone on several levels - physical and mental. You would just need to follow the recommendations and you could do most things yourself. You are the ONLY ONE that can decide about yourself and your life.
But there is one part (mostly the middle of healing, where normal medicine fail to overcome this hurdle/barrier), there is the need for special methods that only can be done by professionals. For this there are professionals in allmost every country, but their are not in plain sight and not for the mass/everyone. What do you think, where some "allways healthy" people go? The healthy - managers, rich people, pharmabosses etc. They don't use the school medice for their problems mostly, because it cannot deliver a solution for some problems. Thats why there is alternatve medicine where really healthy people go. School medicine by the way is really good for specific things, especially in case of emergency, it is the very good choice. But for long-term problems there are much better ways. And you know what, you don't even have to be ill at all, because prevention is key and how would also included in my recommendations. Still big problem: Who would ever believe a stranger, that comes to a forum and says he could really help me and maybe it even costs some money ? OMG NOOOO.. You and others would rather suffer their whole life, then doing that. :tape2:
Still of course I wish you all the best. I hope you will find a solution and get healed. :reddy:
Tell us how it goes for you

my message:
Don't underestemate the healing powers of your own body, you just need to support it the right way. In fact this is the only thing that heals you all the time.

greetings from germany

Sorry to hear about that, dude. Hope it gets better for you.

I would concur with all the other people in this thread who say that exercise will help the pain. I'm really into weight lifting myself so I spend a lot of time on fitness forums, and I've heard people say time and time again that they were in constant pain from some back injury or condition, and the only thing that helped was building up their core muscles. I'd talk to your doctor and see if that could be a good idea for you... Obviously you'll have to build up to it; you can't jump right into 400 pound deadlifts right now. Start small and work your way up.
