Ya know, I definitely used to sit and read aimlessly, just for the hell of it... And then I started blogging, and helping others make money (which makes me money).. And at the end of the day I can now rest and know that I made a contribution to someones future..

Once you realize that you DONT wanna go back to 9-5, you'll realize how important Focus really is!!

Good luck bud!!

Wow black hat world can turn user's into straight addicts. I agree stay away from the forum and focus on work. You don't want to become a virtual pookie trying to get another hit from BHW! LOL, no for real stop trying to find a magic pill that is going to bring you success. Thats the biggest mistake that many people do when searching this and other forums like it.

You have all the weapons you need to make money, so put the pipe down and get out there. Good Luck

Some things that work for me...

Get a picture of ONE of your goals, a material thing you desire - cost is not important, but the desire is. Now post that picture on your computer, in your bathroom, car, etc. - If you truly want it you will get it... It has helped me get my motorcycle and now helped me buy an RV in 2008. You must see it everyday, just like the work you see and do - but now it has purpose beyond paying bills or surviving... How bad do you want it? Someone asked that already, but it is very important.

Now you have your goal (one of them), make it a big one.

Example: If my goal requires $90,000 - then break it down... you see as an affiliate, you can put it in terms of daily income... this is how I set monetary goals now - in terms of days... That $90,000 car or whatever can be broken down into the most basic income goals... It would be a 3 year loan maybe... so that is 365 days times 3 - or 1095 days... OR, if it was a 5 year or 60 month loan, now it is even easier to achieve...that would mean I need to make about $49.32 per day for those 1825 days.

Now is the eye opener - This car or House or whatever over the 3 years will cost me $82.19 per day - So now I build an income that nets me $90 per day and I go get my car (whatever goal)...

I look at everything this way now because once started it is easy to adjust... need a raise? Tweak something to give you the extra money per day - and then go get it... It takes one maybe two times of getting your goal like this and then you never stop.... it's really cool too - because after the 1095 days at $90 per day - I have the goal, and now the loan is paid and I have another $90 per day goal I can go after the next goal. And it is no work at all this time.

I hope this can help your mindset... nothing is too big or too expensive when you work for it by the day.

Last tip; Take Action, Take Action, Take Action

All the education and friendships and forums are of no good if you never implement what we learn. Go for it and fail at something a couple hundred times (exagerated), you get better at succeeding by default, but you have to do something, not just read about it or buy software, the desire to get there is the true motivator - not the money, not the car, but maybe the notariety (LOL) - Anyway, the right mindset is pinnacle.

Oh, and try this... No getting high, or having sex, or gaming online, or even BHW until you complete a task - then you get your sex or a few bong hits or whatever, but you are rewarding yourself for action, and there are no rewards if you do nothing.... no money, no sex, no getting high, no playing games - only unemployment - and maybe that IS the motivator.

Dude...nice post. I really appreciate your ideas in this thread.

Thanks to all for taking the time to post...thanks given. I am off to plan!

Seriously..this has been helpful

I admire the honesty of the OP.

The answers given are pretty spot on. Easiest thing in the world is to play about on the net skimming one forum then another and chasing the ever elusive score when all it takes is some dedication and discipline to turn the ideas into practice.

once you/anyone sets their mind on ONE thing just as everyone has said they will succeed.

here is what was taught to me:

do not make your to do list bigger than 3 items A B & C

A is priority 1
B is 2
C uhh yeah 3

set aside time increments for each task

A for 1 hour take a 10-15 minute break
A for 1 hour take a 10-15 minute break
A for 1 hour take an hour break

If A is complete move to B. If not go back to A and keep plugging.

the assembly line process can be mind numbingly boring, but darn it, it works

make certain that you select a niche that you enjoy and this will aid in getting you through the initial doldrums.

Dude... :D that sounds sweet.
Have you managed to get some sex or bong hits?

Can you teach me how to get some for myself?

Aweosmoe.

Tnks bra.

Think of a goal you want to accomplish and then say your gonna finish it by a certain time. And if you can't think of something right away make a goal of a time to finish something so you don't procrastinate doing something and just keep aimlessly doing stuff. :)

@digital

Thanks for asking, and the answer is YES!
(lights a joint)

It gets pretty easy to have sex and bong hits once you are truly self-employed...LOL ...then you get into enjoying them in many other places.

You have to act... C'mon you guys, FAIL with me... let's try something, anything, let's just do it. Remember when 2009 just started? Well, we are 3 months in, and then it is 2010... did you have plans for 2010?

What have you got planned for today? I have already completed my a.m. routine of tasks - and can't decide what else to get done today... Must be the Pot. If I can do this, YOU can too. (But it IS work)

(exhales)

I think the biggest problem is looking for the best 'get rich quick' system.

IM success = WORK, unless you're very lucky (most of it boring repetative work)

At some point you may be making money on autopilot, but it takes a lot of WORK to get there. Even then you will need to continue to WORK because what's earning on autopilot may earn for years, or may fail tomorrow.

It's much easier to keep surfing, looking for something better.

The first thing you try will probably fail (8 out of 10 businesses do fail), and you probably know that. Failure is very depressing, until you try you won't fail, so it's easier not to try because at least then you haven't failed. Even if it doesn't fail it may take months to start making money, so you may get bored with it and give-up.

So, you have to DO SOMETHING. Treat it as a learning exercise, if you learn from it then it's worthwhile, perhaps it will also make some money, but if your main goal is to learn from the exercise you can't fail.

Get Rich Quick - What an oxymoron...

You reminded me of something else very important, your business mindset -

This IS your business - NOT the website you built, not the second blog you created, not the videos you are promoting... YOU are the business, all these other 'tools' are here for you - completely in your control. ALL of what you are doing falls under your business - sure, you can look at each website or venture as a business, but don't forget the real business is you, the rest is just tasks.

You are the reflection of how well your business is doing... and only YOU can honestly answer that.

First off choose just one to work with. Monetize it THEN move on to the next one. Dont jump around from one to the other until you have successfully completed something.

Stop browsing the forums and internet aimlessly. Once you have choosen which network you are going to work with. Why not search the forums or the internet on how to go about it. What you can do to start earning from them. Copy every tactic you see then paste it to MS Word.

Next TURN OFF YOUR INTERNET. Now once you turn off your internet you can't browse the forums aimlessly.

So now you have which network you will work with and tactics about how to earn from them. Take out a pen and paper. Yes a pen and paper not your computer. When you write down using a pen and paper your brain tend to retain information a little easier. Start mapping out a game plan using the network you've chosen and the tactics you've learned. Write down each step your going to have to take to initiate those tactics for lets say CPAs if you chose that. Now all you have to do is follow your steps.

I know exactly how you feel. I've been there. I contribute all of my success to my pen and paper. Not any software or whatever.

If this doesn't make sense i'm sorry but i've be up for over 48 hours working now and I'm kinda starting to go stupid from the lack of sleep lol

Makes a hell lotta sense to me...:)

So glad you posted this...I have also been passing through this stage. In my search for new toys I picked up two hackers, trojans, and now Kaspersky is protecting me. Ecckkk. My PC is going to the shop this week as it is still not right. Than went into being more focused. I outsourced people from another site to do some of the things I could not wrap my brain around. I thought everything would be alive this week. LOL. But, none of the outsourced services came true. Writers did not send content, designers did not do their job and are not responding. This can be a crazy world when we are trying to learn the ropes. Sometimes I have found myself hitting my head against the wall. For me, the forums have been good as I read topics like you have posted and realize that most of us do go through these stages of learning.

Somehow, this makes me feel a little bit better...

Now I am starting over again. Maybe this time I will be smarter. If only I could get these PDF files to work! (LOL)

Op, your post gave me a bit of a headache with the lists. I think half the problem is, you have too much going on. You are downloading too much and not implementing enough. Forget the software for now, spend 1 hour reading the 'making money section' and the rest of your free time tweaking, twisting and implementing...you WILL see results. If one thing doesn't work, try something else until you find your golden ticket, then rinse and repeat. Sounds like novel advice but just try and see.

This thread makes me feel better too.

I really need to focus on one individual thing at a time. The more you flip around different ideas you end up getting nothing done lol. It sounds to me like you have everything you need. I think I need to JV with ppl but there are trust issues and like you said things fizzle out.

I think if you are really stuck start a blog and when you are reading and f^&king around online you can add content to it and at least you are doing something.

Best thing for students is if learning IT, accountancy, teaching blog while you are learning stuff rather than trying to make money off of viagra or something unrelated haha

Saying that I am a hypocrite and will probably try bum marketing with an unrelated area lol. I need to follow my own advice.

The vicious circle I am in is I need BHW to learn more stuff but while I try to do one thing I come back for pointers and learn 10 more things and get sidetracked and info overload.

:OMG:

:D

I was in the same rut for almost an entire year before I took consistent action. What was the solution for me? Believe it or not, it was an archaic offline product which changed everything for me.... a GIANT WHITEBOARD.
I bought 4 of them actually, HUGE ones, and placed them on the wall above my office desk and for about a week, I designed and planned out 4 plans of action which I *knew* from past experience made at least $1. The fact that each method made any money at all was enough for me to pursue them, but I only allowed myself to select 4 based on profit vs time.
Once I had my plan down, I then took the 4th board and drew up an agenda for my week, very similar to the kind of schedules I would have had at my last job, but this time I had total control over it :)
When I stepped back to take a look, man, what a difference it made. Instantly the next morning I woke up and feeling great because I finally KNEW what I was going to be doing that day, and the next, and even the following week.

It felt as if I finally created a ''job'' for myself.

The rewarding part too was being able to rub off stuff I had completed on my agenda board. Man that feels great to do even today...a real sense of accomplishment done in a very simple way :)

Give it a shot.... you don't have to get as many white boards as I did, but they become addictive too so you might end up with at least a couple :D Just try and stick with your plan of action after and never deviate. Fire yourself if you have to, to wake yourself up lol! :D

Great inspirational posts & some good tips! I'm off to follow through on some now. As I am definitely in a rut .... I recently downloaded some binaural beat files that are meant to help you focus. They do seem to make a difference, maybe because they blank out any outside noises ...

Every now and then I read the Forbes Magazine's New Millionaires List, if I don't find my name, I put my black hat back on and I get back to work.

Guys and Gals,

I'm drifting hopelessly with an arsenal of weapons but no gameplan.

I'm suffering from what is discusses many times on here, information overload and I know I need to take action?

With the tools I have it should be hard not to make money, there must be others like me?

I've got KE Elite, SEO Elite, just got Micro Niche Finder (superb program), own Blogslammer and am waiting to start the coaching.

I am member of firepow, can setup blogs, even Mu installations.

I have 2 CPA accounts, adsense, ebaypartnernetwork, amazon, clickbank, tradedoubler, commision junction.

I have resellerhosting, can ftp and register domains.

I can do basic html and I've got banner creation software.

Can SEO (with good results) for good measure.

I know social bookmarking, am a member of traffic geyser, have got twitter account generator, the superb answerye from YESNO on here.

I've even got Alexs Blackhat package on here!

I know RSS and its power, have skype and Camtasia and have every ebook ever written.

Today I had 6 hours to spare...and 3 hours in I have just flitted around...again!

Can anyone save me? I simply have to start earning...

OMG you just described me, the first post on your thread is the best answer man, STOP planning and imagining and JUST DO IT.
One thing at a time and DO IT, there comes a time when you have enough tools you gotta stop reading cause there's always gonna be something new.

I really should'nt even have been reading your post.

Good luck mate
