I'm currently managing 50 YouTube channels

Hey gang !

A very first post with a kinda clickbait title to present myself.

After years working on the optimization of YouTube channels for Brands and Medias in France, I'm currently working for "Jellysmack" as the main YouTube Business Developer.

One of the side of my work is to work with the analytics to perform on our whole catalogue of +/- 50 YouTube channels.
So, it is also my job to stay in touch with this kind of forums to get some pertinent and fresh insights.

I do believe in "win-win" situations, so I'd like to help you guys with my knowledge/skills, in exchange of new tricks that I maybe missed

So, if you have some specific questions/situations about the growth of your channels, feel free to ask here so I can create guidelines and spread knowledge.

Interesting! I wrote you guys an email some moths ago but haven't received a response yet. We produce a lot of different content types. One of them could be interesting for you. We started a DIY brand a year ago. Our Do it Yourself videos work without text overlays or voice overs so the videos could go viral in all country. At the moment we only make good views on Facebook in Germany. On YouTube we have almost 0 views and we also don't publish them in other countries. The high views on our Facebook channel shows us that the videos are very good, so we have a lot of potential here. Do you think you could help us grow on other platforms and maybe in other countries?

What do you recommend for shadowbanned channels? (Channels that have recieved several strikes and their views decreased -95%

What I should be able to do, is asking our "YouTube Cast Coordinator" to take a look.
The issue is that the way that we're working is the perfect opposite, we go from YouTube to Facebook, not the opposite.

If you have another Big (& clean) YouTube channel OR you manage enough YouTube channels to get the YouTube CMS, first thing you can do is to reach YouTube in order to have a "Partner Operation Manager", which is awesome to get some precise and quicks answers about your channels regarding strikes, shadowbanning and so on.

But let's put that aside, I feel like you are not in this situation.

Depending of the channel in question what I'd advice is ... to redo a Brand new channel.
If you had a cool concept that was successfull in reaching views, do not let the situation dragging you down and wasting your time.

If you have no way to reach someone that will really help you within YouTube, the only way I know is to wait an unknown amount of time to be unbanned, do not waste it and
take advantage of the situation to upgrade your content (CTR, Watchtime, interactions).

YouTube is nobody's friend, shadowbans are frustrating situations but you can make the best of it, it's a great think that you are aware of the situation.

How much of the gameplay needs to have voice over, let's say from a 30 minutes long video?

I know getting accepted into YPP is hard on gaming niche without a commentary. But how much voice over video needs to be added to be eligible?

What you NEED isn't actually voicover, but "just" the original content to me modified so that your utilisation can avoid copyright infringement.
If you have troubles in term of having enough audible commentary, what you can do is to work on the visual aspect, which will be a real relief in term of work.

There is a lot of tricks such as adding visual effect, adding visual onomatopoeic related to the gameplay and so on

Also, there are exceptions, but keep in mind that if you want to get a great watchtime, just uploading gameplay without extra works is a great way to fail to do so. :/

how to come up with video ideas? any tricks? about the script.. do you have you own writers or you outsource (in like upwork)?

can you put all those channels in one adsence account?

1. Short answer:

About your content itself:
Make it tell a story so that viewers stay longer to know the end, Storytime is a kind of contents that always perform because of the fact that viewers tends to stay more, and that's what YouTube is waiting from you.
Experiment your thumbnails and titles ! Analysing your CTR will be your best friend in the long run.
Analyse the interactions (likes, comments, news subs), find a way to analyse if your last content has a good ration views/interactions and find keys to make it always higher.

About the ranking:
Take some time optimizing your description. Let's be real, except the first 3 ligns and maybe some call-to-actions links, nobody reads it. But it's actually a great place to optimize your keywords.
You should try it for yourself because a lot of people do not understand this point: Tags are f***** useless, try to write a imaginated word within your tag, and after uploading your content (wait a few days/weeks obvioulsy) try to search it in the YouTube searchbar, you'll see that today, Tags has almost no impact on ranking. BUT DESCRIPTION IS, take time for that !

Chapters is a great way to get traffic from Google Search and News if you're talking about a researched topic.

Endscreen can also help you a lot if you manage them efficiently

Google Trends is your friend for hot topics !

Jellysmack has his own writers, we do outsource editing sometime, if there are some skilled editors in the forum, you definitly can reach us to see you profil btw !

Let pu aside Jellysmack for a minute, I do use outsourcing for some personnals channels that I produce, Fivver is a must !

are your channels getting paid via adsense or you have them all in MCN/CMS

If I'm not mistaking, we're managing our datas with the CMS, but still getting paid with adsense

Just to be clear: I can more or less answer to direct questions about what my company does for internet creators, that being said, I am not here to sell or promote anything.
