what exactly is your online business?

you have to want success as much as you want to breath, then you will do whatever it takes to be successful.

Right now it just sounds like you kinda want success.

I was laid off from my job about 3 months ago, I had only my online income to "live" off. I knew how badly I wanted to succeed and I did not look for another job because I knew that if my success or failure online became "do or die" I would do whatever it took (while adhering to my principles and conscience of course).

I have been working many 16 hour days and only going out for short breaks with friends whenever I'm unable to focus anymore and I just recently lost 80% of my income to the new panda update (sept 28).

What did I do? I sold a lot of my possession and invested it in a few services on this forum that I really believe in including Gregs mns+. The rest will be used to outsource my work and build upon my investment. I am literally on the brink of depression but I have a very supportive girlfriend who keeps pushing me back on track. Some mornings I find myself going back to sleep because the dream world is so much nicer than facing reality but I know that I HAVE to succeed and I will. Its a matter of when, not if.

Just wanted to share a bit of what I'm dealing with and what I'm doing about it. Maybe it will give you some ideas on what you can do. Just know that you are not alone in this. I have been doing IM and have failed countless times over the past 3 years, but I know that opportunity comes disguised in the form of misfortune and temporary failure.

Actually you can live out of your... it is far from pleasant though but certainly possible.

I've done it and although I had some uncomfortable moments I ended up getting things together and you can do the same if you choose to.

It's all about choice FTW.

I think you misunderstood the question. What you were being asked is what are doing to make cash? Design, coding, hosting, etc?

I failed for 12 years till the time continuously!!






And Still trying. May be my energy level is lower but i am on it.

Lots of theme modifying on Wordpress sites, and installing blogs and other scripts. That's been a majority of it, as well as some plugin installing/configuring and I was also trying to sell backlink packages in the adult industry but that was a big struggle.

I would say that's the bulk of your problem. not to sound condsending but thats not a business.

you have to provide some kind of value to a customer and then the end result is making money.

The value can be anthing (product, service, information, etc) but its a crucial element in business.

Just go to any bank and try to get a loan for a business. When they ask what the business is say "its me trying to make money" and see what they say.

I am not surprised you took a little flack for some of this.

What did you learn from this? Not sure why you though adult was a niche to go for if you thought you needed massive resources. If you didn't know that before you went into it, what did you bring out of it. Did you learn enough to make money from something less competitive?

Never mind calling us to action. Get your head into gear, use the skills you have, rent or buy those you don't have and do it.

Just go into offline marketing OP. It's seriously your best bet and you'll create a real stable business this way.

Right now, I am a full time affiliate and in the process of starting a hosting business. There has been a time when I did anything and everything to get the cash rolling in. If that time comes again, I will do it. If I had to, I would get a day job to feed the family and start all over for a 3rd time.

You need to learn to be a jack of all trades in this business. For example, I have done design, ppc and seo for local companies, provide hosting services, as well as run my affiliate/adsense sites and manage my own ppc campaigns on msn/facebook. When I did not have client sites to work on, I was constantly working on my own stuff. Always be doing something and trying to learn something new.

Stay busy, stay focused and do not give up.

you need to fail more. 4 failures is peanuts. try making it to 40 failures without getting derailed by success somewhere along the way.

All I have to say is this.. I've been doing this shit for like 8 years and have been on the very top making $20k a month and have been on the very bottom making nothing. This last G update threw me in the gutter. I have 3 children the youngest which is 7 months old. I lost most of all my income with this last update and lost my apartment and all my things. I am living in a hotel room barely able to pay for it with 3 kids. I got to take my clothes and two computers. It's the name of the game, just have to keep working hard and bring your self back up. That is what I am working on doing. I wake up and take my oldest to school then come back to the hotel room and get on the computer looking for ways to make cash. Just keep at it and don't give up, you can't.
