I'm about to fail... 4th time, and permanently :(

Hello everyone. Let me start with a brief history.

In 2008 I lost my job outside of home. I started working online on GPT sites, then eventually opened my own. That ended up failing because industry payout standards changed.

After that failed, I ventured my way into making adult websites and trying to make $ off of surfers buying memberships to adult sites. I didn't make much money at all and the adult industry is extremely oversaturated unless you've already got massive resources, so this ended up being a failure as well.

Now, I have been doing freelance and subcontract work for webmasters for the past 18 months, and I had a great job making $1600/mo. Lost it due to his business failing, which in essence, made ME fail for a third time.

I am currently working online for $400/mo, and I have given myself 60 days to either pick up a new job making my old income ($1600/mo) or I have to and start flipping burgers, just to lose my house because I won't be able to pay rent on a burger-flipper's pay.

I'm here, now, asking some of the more successful BHW members to lend an almost-4x-failed man try to bring his online business to a sustainable income level in 30-60 days. :1zhelp: I'll take lots of different types of work such as installing wordpress and other scripts, some coding work, and things of that nature. I'm really not interested in writing text all day or posting to craigslist, or uploading, especially since I am on a slow 3G internet connection (can't afford "real" internet). I'd also be interested in maybe someone developing a foolproof plan that is guaranteed to make my $1600/mo within 60 days so I don't have to go flip burgers and lose my house.

This is my call to action. I hope that some of you have the hearts to help me right now. I need some money so I can get back on my feet again. I need a sustainable source of income so I don't fail for a 4th time. Please help, someone!

That word CAN'T is dragging you down. Why can't you live out of your car? Our ancestors lived in covered wagons. Are you saying that you won't do that.

You list a bunch of things that you don't want to or won't do. It would be beneficial for you to change that attitude until you get back on your feet. Do what ever it takes to make it through this.

I have done many things that I did not like to do to make it through the rough spots. You don't have a choice at the moment, do it or move into the car. Suffer today for rewards tomorrow.

Go to a public library or coffee shop they have free internet and it is faster. When I do there I get a cup of coffee and nurse it to drag out the time so I don't feel guilty sitting there.

3g service? Looks like you need to cut back on expenses and that would also help. Don't say you can't because if you really wanted to, you could.

Okay, you obviously have some marketable skills since you were doing freelance and subcontract work for Webmasters. So my question for you is, why do you have to be the lowest guy on the totem pole? Why not solicit customers yourself (offline businesses) and do the same kind of work for them?

You can easily make $500+ for a new Website design. Add on hosting and some other services and you can see you don't need many clients every month to make your $1,600 nut.

Don't be the person that everyone outsources to, be the outsourcer. It's way more lucrative.

You're right. I'm not willing to move into my car, lol.

I've cut back ALL my bills/expenses. If I don't keep the 3G, I have 0 internet. Then, it'll cost way more to drive to the library every day than it would to keep the service. I've weighed all possible options and my current "config" is the most cost-effective.

Finally, there's things that I am more skilled at than others and I don't want someone to be unhappy with something that I do for them, if I am not skilled at it (or fast enough, etc). I'm asking for some help but I am also letting potential helpers know the fields I am more skilled in. I hope you see what I mean. Thanks for your input.

I don't WANT to be the lowest on the totem pole (although I did hear once that the lower the face is on the REAL totem pole, the higher his "class" was or something... idk lol). What I want is to be able to get some sort of setup that pays me a sustainable and livable income and maybe even some extra so I CAN outsource. In essence (and in an ideal world) I'd like to wake up, come online, check my numbers, dish out some work, and enjoy life. $1600/mo won't let me do that but it'll let me actually live a life. I'd be happy with $2000-$2500/mo then I could do what i mentioned in the beginning of this paragraph.

you need solid reliable income - getting something going in 30-60 days is just not feasible - too high risk of failure. might be time to bite the bullet and get a more reliable job. try doubling up, in the sense that the job is boring and you can sit on the computer and do other internet stuff at the same time - like security for example.

if you cant afford the house maybe you should sell it, accept a room mate, rent it out...

I feel for you bro, been there done that. i kept applying to jobs for about 4 months and got a good IT job - you just have to manually apply, tailor your emails / resumes / tiny cover letter

start your own website and offer your services that you used to freelance.
Use what skills you already have.

You could even offer things on your site that you dont necessarily know how to do but can outsource for cheap then just charge more. make sure you put your services and website in your sig then keep posting on forums and offering to help people.

and honestly if you wont even be able to pay rent i wouldnt wait 60 days. why dont you flip burgers now for a month or two and do this at night in your free time and build it up so maybe in 60 days you can quit Burger King and make this your job again. Dont rely on something that is not even guarenteed when your this desperate. at least at a fast food joint you know you will be paid every other week. Good Luck

Everyone has skills at something. I like putting together WP amazon niche sites but I hate selling them.

I've installed thousands of Wordpress blogs for people, modified templates, created simple header images/logos, installed all their plugins and everything in one shot.

I used to manage thousands and thousands of link trades for a couple network owners, and even installed a link-trade managing script to a network of well over 1000 sites. I can do some coding (html) from scratch and I am best at modifying existing code to make it fit peoples needs.

This isnt a complete list, but it's a couple things that I can name off right away. If you have questions on what I can/can't do, feel free to ask here or PM so I may answer it.

Where are you expecting to start? What I am feeling is you want to start somewhere near the top and want to make enough to pay your living expenses so you can cruise through life. That is the wrong attitude to have! You need to do whatever it takes to make it full time. I have had to start over twice, but did what I had to do.

What did you do to reinvest when you were making cash? Did you buy a hosting account and develop some MFA sites to generate a passive income with Adsense? Did you run any ppc or facebook campaigns to generate some affiliate income?

Why not flip burgers and work your IM job until you have some stability and money in the bank to make it through the slow times?

I'm afraid you got the wrong impression. I was replying to someone else who asked me why I WANTED to stay at the bottom of the totem pole and I replied. I know I need to do what it takes to make my way up the ladder, so please don't get me wrong when I say that I do not want to be stuck down here forever.

I currently have a server, yes. I also have a coupe of sites that I have been spending dozens and dozens of hours on and I am not making shit back as far as Adsense goes... along the lines of $0.30 per day. That's NEVER going to pay my bills lol. Also, Adsense to me, is not reliable, because one month you can have a nice month and the next month you only make 10% of what you made the month before.

He's touting sure, but we have all touted at some point in time. If you don't ask the questions you don't know the answer.....the answer here being, maybe someone has some work for him to do.

Personally I've offered him some potential work, and am willing to give him a chance.

Everyone here who has ever made any serious money / cash flow (way better than their old day jobS), whether online or offline, indubitably and multiple times LOST money, much time, spouses, BFFs, jobs, cars, friends, real estate, investments, probably went bankrupt... and their self-esteem took yet another strike broadside... regardless of all those make-one-suicidally crazy life events, s/he invariably and because they kept moving FORWARD and built on the lessons learned while counting their blessings especailly when things were bleakest, kept getting up to bat and EVENTUALLY HIT SOMETHING OUT OF THE PARK big time.
