I am a college student and have been writing online content on multiple websites. For starters, I publish content on my own website (about Japanese popular cultures), on The Artifice (an online magazine on art forms), contribute to technical content to Mozilla, WPD, etc., and have accomplished some content writing internships (for example I wrote product summaries of 300 items for a makeup service provider based in New Delhi, India).

However, there's no way I think I can earn... Do I just not have connections? Because from what I hear, I presume the field of online content writing is full of $$$.

Please give advices on how do I begin? I have lots of free time along with my studies, and am a fast writer. More importantly, I love to write about stuff. I always proofread and write original content with proper research, but how do I utilize this ability?

Thank you in advance :)

Create a gig on fiverr.com about writing,There you will earn 3.92$ per gig after cutting paypal fees.Or start a thread offering your article services here at bhw marketplace but you will need around 100$ for jr. vip and 30$ as thread fees

Start with fiverr.. side by side Increase your your post count here (BHW).. then get a Jr VIP status, Sell your service here.

See what all needs to be done at the freelance section. That is a great place to get your feet wet and see what you are comfortable doing.

Very great advise and i think selling your services here would be the most lucrative option.
But fiverr is also not a bad idea. I'd do the same.

You can start with Fiverr. Fiver takes 20 percent's of your share.
Or you can go with SeoClerk and sell articles there (I find that I get more traffic and sales there).
Freelancer, Odesk, and the BlackhatWorld Freelancer section also work.

Yeah if I were you I'd open up a thread and sell your writings here. Create an info-graphic, or pay someone to make one for you. Make sure it's real clean looking, something like this: http://i.imgur.com/nTz3fKi.png

Give your background info, some credentials in the thread. Be prepared to give out samples to people.

I think there's always BHW members looking for solid writers. All you need is that thread to kick things off.

One piece of advice is to start with charge less in the beginning so you can work your portfolio up.

There are a lot of websites for freelancers where you can start, like in upwork, elance and freelance you may want to check those websites and so you can start your writing career!

Freelancer is way overcrowded with people willing to do work for dirt cheap. Reason is their work is shit, but clients only see price, they rarely believe you get what you pay for. I have had a lot more success with upwork. They are a lot more legit in my opinion.

Hello! I'm looking for writers looking for steady work to write 400 word articles for 1 US cent a word. PM me if you are interested :)

Upwork is far better but I trust forum writers over others. They are legit and presumably more professional.

I need some content written if you have a good rate to offer....

I'm in a similar boat, myself. I agree with zsimpson22 - Freelancer is a waste of time. The most frustrating part of that site is the pay-per-skill-assessment thing. I'm a native English speaker, yet I have to pay to put that fact in my profile or I can't bid on jobs that require English? Annoying.
