Ideas on Beating or Attacking Link Network?

A competitor has been using a company in Japan to build a ton of links to their main site. They are reposting the same spun article across several different blogs and it is really working well for them.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience defeating a link network? I have reported the sites to Google showing examples of spun articles across multiple sites, but I don't honestly think anything will come of it. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Don't be a "dick" and ban someone's link network. Why don't you try out ranking them using your own pbn?

I wouldn't report them, but that damage has been done. Look eventually they will get penalized, it happens to all sites where you can obviously tell they are manipulating links. The trick is to manipulate links to your own site and make it less obvious than your competitor. Or you can go with a pure white hat approach and see how that works...

Food for thought, keep your primary site white/gray hat. Build other sites which "compete" against it but use the same shady tactics he uses. If they get nuked by Google then who cares. You still have your clean site.

This site does NOT encourage negative seo...such as reporting someone elses network to G. We call that snitching and hence you wont get much help here.

and you are right!!!! Google.co.jp is different than English version, much loosen there, you can do nearly whatever you want, just spam to death, i mean, clever spam, then you are good to go!

Id suggest do same thing, replicate their things and do better than him, wait for magic then/
