I want to learn professional LOGO creating

Search on google you will find ample of resources.
follow tutorials, check videos on YouTube. you will get confidence.
I recommend illustrator or corel for logo creations.

It takes a lot to learn but its also depends on your knowledge and understanding of Art. I would recommend looking at Logos on Deviant art to get an idea of what you like and try to make something similar.

Photoshop? Teenage girls use Photoshop to hide their acne,if you want to design logo professionally....master ILLUSTRATOR. And look for plenty of great free tutorials online.

ps. I've designed over 200 logos, all in Illustrator.

Learn how to use Photoshop and Illustrator. You do not need to go to school to be a professional designer. You need to learn how to use the tools and practice with them. Google things like "logo inspiration" and you'll find great logos. Those are the types of logos you should be getting a feel of what's good from. Some people naturally have a feeling for design. I would recommend joining some sort of graphic design community or forum. You probably won't be making good logos right away, and if you are, they're probably only going to be "decent" - cliched and standard.

I want this learn too for my own websites. Thanks for the inspiration

illustator ,photoshop and flash these are awesome software for lerarning designing.
CHEERS

Also, don't forget GIMP as a free, open-source piece of software to use. Cracks are often virus-infected but GIMP is free no matter what.

Try to learn photoshop, illustrator first then start checking around other peoples work. Then start crating something from your own ideas don't copy others when you do that.

For those on a low or no budget: 1) Get GIMP or PS Elements (a very limited/lite version of PS, but will familiarize you with the software). Illustrator can come later, but you need practice now. 2) Review the tutorials available on Youtube, torrents, and sites about design. 3) Look at the sites mentioned by designers who post or answer ads on the forums and elsewhere on the web, which will give you a clear idea of what kind of online portfolio to create, and competitive pricing.

4) Set up a site on a subdomain or free blog platform, to work on and post your own first samples. Use these published-to-the-web samples to show what you can do, and answer a few ads, offering to complete a job at a low rate. Once you get paid, voila, you've literally become a "professional" (sometimes you gotta run before you can walk, in Ironman terms). Then strive to become a pro in terms of quality standards as well.

Any Professional logo starts with a brainstorming or another creative method, continues with pen and paper, and finally, the computer.

But please, don't become a "i'll do your professional logo for 5$" guy, this is the kind of things who kills brands, enterprises, and our profession.

Now that is the way to do it!! Good to see somebody speak about pen and paper before even thinking to start on the computer!!
Learn Illustrator or Coreldraw, depends in what business you want to end up, web or print. Forget photoshop, waste of time for professional logo's!

First you have to brainstorm, have a face to face meeting with your client and fully understand what he wants, what his business is about, what it reflects, who his competition is .... then most of the time you will have to try convince them that they ideas they have in their head not the way to do it. (for example: just because McDonalds has a red/yellow logo that doesn't mean that red/yellow is going to be good for his business!!) You are the professional, you will have to convince him what works and not!

You have to fully understand what he wants before you start brainstorming, this will help you a lot in the process. Nothing worse then showing up to a client with a logo and see the look on his face that he didn't like it and that it's not what "he wanted".

Then you go to pen and paper, wright down all the keywords that reflext to the logo and try to come up with something creative and original. Don't be afraid to spend a few days on this process and try different ideas. What helps is to use google images or design books to see what logo's are allready out there. Please don't go for the obvious logo's: for example when you have to make a logo for a petshop don't include a picture of cat and a dog, BE ORIGINAL!

Why pen and paper? Because it's way easier and faster to brainstorm and try out some stuff. Once you have the idea you go to your computer and start transforming the logo you have on paper into vector. Make it clear for your client that you don't work for free, i give my clients 3 variations on a logo with 3 retoutches, if they want more retoutches after they will have to pay. Don't work FOR FREE!!! Make that completely clear from the beginning, your time costs money, don't fall for the design crodwsurfing shit like 99 designs who rape designers and give the business a bad name!!

Creating a professional logo takes time and you will have to study a lot!! Remember these 2 important things BE CREATIVE AND DON'T WORK FOR FREE!! Good luck!

I was surprised at the number of people that said use PhotoShop. I guess you must be working on web stuff. In print media, illustrator is the only real way to go. Most clients who do print media and business advertisements needs to have logos which are superscaler. Say you do a billboard no photoshop isn't goign to cut it. Yes people have designed in photoshop but for any print stuff generally it needs to get converted to illustrator so its enlargable (alot of people ahve already said that)

Even on a webpress, the dpi can be as high as 12000 dpi. Even human eye can tell difference between 300 and 600 and 1200 dpi.

Nothing wrong with using photoshop, because since it sounds like you are starting off, most of your clients will be small businesses that do not care about that stuff. They probably just print 4 color business card or post card and thats it. maybe web stuff.

but in big corporates, logo must look good on all mediums and in both color and b&w.

Look here to see the specs I set out for my logo. You can see the pros from amateurs. alot fo fthe ameteurs replied I was asking too much. You can see the winning logo met all the requirements. Subsequently the designer even translated it to B&W and Metal cut designs for us.

It is EPSed, I can put it on a blimp.

Through my experience, the one's that worker are the logos that i kept in 2 colors combiations only :)

First you need to learn about Photoshop and then check different designs and read different articles about logo designs and try to copy the already created designs and they try to create your own designs. Check here you can find lot of logo designs.

The LOGO you want to create must be easy to remember to those who saw it.

There is no such a thing, professional logo. Every "$5 logo designer" is professional.
Learn Illustrator and play with it, use your brain and hand to create a logo, eventually it will become professional.

Lets just go with definition 2--

at first get yourself photoshop.

no matter you like it or not many clients love it when you include photoshop in your portfolio.

then learn the basics make yourself familiar with it and last aim at photoshop logo tutorials

Photoshop is not for building logos(!). Even not for making layouts... but okay.
Better use something that is made for that, like Adobe Illustrator. It's easier to use in this case and you got the right format for the later usage.
If you've worked in a photography agency like me, you see what photoshop is made for... and this is really not the creation of any(!) graphic.

You should know that you can't view a tutorial and create great logos after that. It's something you need to do a very long time, learning by doing. Tutorials and examples are great to get ideas about what is possible and does look good. But at the end, to create something creative out of your head, like you've imagined, it will take some years.
But maybe that's the great thing with it! You will see for your lifetime how your skills grow up, as there is never a point where you can say "I've reached the end" :)

A very important tip: Don't use glossy hypershiny anything effects for a logo. That looks "cheap".
