I think I quit guys!

If you want to play with IM. Especially new people. Do not start with adsense. Maybe you can start with fiverr, ClickBank, CPA, etc. Adsense is very difficult and painful. Risk for banned. Low-value clicks and others.

Furthermore, there are many ways you can earn money online. Why adsense? I personally have a variety of income sources. It lowers the risk of loss.

If you not getting traffic...look at your keyword research and SEO strategy. By the sounds of it, I think it would be your keyword research that sucks donkey balls! No way in hell you getting unique content added to your site EVERY DAY and building links EVERY DAY and not going to get traffic - unless of course you are trying to rank for "make money" or "insurance"! ;-)

Also, make sure your content is actually unique! Use copyscape, simple. Make sure your SEO guy is actually building those links - check them!!

If you are getting traffic, but no money...obivously your monetization sucks donkey balls. Why not try a little harder to presell before dropping your affiliate link. Maybe try promoting a different (more relevant) product. Or just get a freaking aweber account and start building a list!

Dude, 7 years is a long time to not be making any cash. I think you need to just give your sites to me...i'll show you exactly how to monetize them properly!

IM'ing doesn't mean that you sit on this forum 24/7.

IM'ing means you go out and try different things :)

Took me 3 years to figure out what was making money... And the idea didn't come from this board however there are plenty of topics/threads about it on here.

There are lot of other means to earn from internet
sell things do mailing your self
mail email summits

If it were me and i had been doing something for 7 years with no success "which I would not do in reality". Then I would certainly be looking at doing things different. In this business you have to be able to adapt and change on the fly.

You should also have at least 3 streams of income at any one time. If you do not you are asking for problems.

IM is not the problem. The problem is in your thinking. Not trying to be harsh with you, just saying the truth to you.

Everything we do in life is a choice good or bad. You have the ability to choose to be success at IM. There are tons of ways to do it. Or you can take your knowledge and go Offline.

You 7 years in IM have only been wasted if you choose to think they were.

You should EASILY be able to hit $100 a day after 2 years, and if you're not you're doing something seriously wrong.

That's a misleading statement. There isn't anything "easy" in IM, and it's getting more and more difficult. Saying that it's "easy" to make $100 a day will only trick people into thinking it's easy money, and make the ones who can't do it feel like losers.

Besides, I don't understand the common attitude of so-called "something-preneurs" towards "real jobs". Just because one can make money online it doesn't mean he/she's better/cooler/smarter than anyone else. I actually know more respectable farmers than "entrepreneurs"...

Some people just aren't cut out for business. That's the reality.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, all that matters in marketing is your ability to sell. SEO, methods and all that bullshit are useless if you aren't good at MARKETING. The only people that make money online are the ones who know how to market and sell.

If you can't do that then business isn't for you and you need to just get a job in an area where you have other talents.

Finally, something I agree with. There's no "magic deadline", such as "you will be reach in X months", unless you really can do the job. Being a marketer is like being a plumber: unless you like doing it and you know what you're doing, you won't make a penny, even if you hear that plumbers make a fortune.

Also, let's make something clear: you can't be successful by outsourcing everything. You *must* be doing something yourself and have a clear understanding of all parts of your project. The same way you can't open a company, hire some people and walk away from it expecting to make money, you can't do it with an online business.

There isn't anything easy in IM, in any form and shape (be it AdSense, CPA, ClickBank or anything else), unless you have some talent for it. Personally, I couldn't convince a man in a desert to buy a bottle of water from me, my talent lies elsewhere. For this reason, my results have been quite poor, but I'll be recycling in other fields the knowledge I acquired. I believe you should do the same: don't throw away your experience, just reuse it.

There's nothing wrong in being unsuccessful (despite what some "smart people" say on this forum), you probably just have to change your strategy.

I don't get it why so many people jumped in here, trying to talk this guy out of quitting... Seriously people, if he wants to quit, let him, good riddance! Less competition for us! In fact, if every sorry-ass noob quit, then we'd probably see a lot of the now-defunct blackhat methods starting to work again, since noobs wouldn't be around to fuck them up any more.

I made over $20k some monrths way back...made over $150k some years....i was successful. But I always knew it was built on quick sand. My friend who started an offline bizz at the same time started slower and steadier. Guess what? I am back to square one his business is growing and growing. We have swapped roles. I wish I had put my efforts into something off the Net instead now. Which is what I am in the process of doing.

That's not the only thing I guessed about you...
Real world businesses fail at a rate of 68% 3 years out

I personally make a lot more than $150k/yr, and there's absolutely no way I could ever be at "square one" again.

To be 100% honest, if you've been doing IM for 7 years solid and can't make more than $10 a day you should really quit.

You should EASILY be able to hit $100 a day after 2 years, and if you're not you're doing something seriously wrong.

So yeah, perhaps a real job is the best option for you at this stage.

I agree with you, you can to a-l-o-t In 7 years, u must have goals otherwise u just stuck..:ballchain

Quitters are losers... Remember that...

Quitters are losers... Remember that...

What you wrote contradicts one of the dogmas of "new entrepreneurs generation": quit college because it's worthless. If your statement were true, then all the successful college dropouts would automatically be losers.

Quitters are not losers, as long as they quit for a reason and they plan to move to something else. "Sticking to it" just for the fear of being considered losers is what real losers do.

Seems like a lot of noobs have been talking about quitting IM lately. LOL

Sell off a couple of your sites making $5/day for 10x what they are making each month. Take that money, create some new sites in a new niche, and start investing the money from the sites you sold into those.

I feel your frustrations. I gained a lot of success in a respectable amount of time in the begining and hit a goddamn ceiling myself.

5 things that are working for me.

1. WORDPRESS. its easy and fast (great for informational based niche sites and even has authority site potential). you can crank out tons of good content sites with this cms in a good amount of time.

2. LONG TAIL KEYWORDS. use google trends, adwords keyword tool, spyfu, etc to research for long tail keywords. lots of long tails with low comp and decent traffic each month out there (yes local and exact).

3. BACKLINKS. Hated these things for a while and didnt really believe they were worth persuing. even built a successful website that has earned me thousands without them. thanks to scrapebox as well as other software (and the people who actually know how to use it) my faith in backlinks has been restored as I have seen significant SERPS gain through them.

4. PANDA. I know I know it sounds crazy but I'm going to say this and maybe I shouldnt because I'm revealing a bit of my strategy but oh well: Panda is knocking guys out of top 5 spots for serps left and right, right? All that tells me is that there are a lot of openings out there so NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO BUILD SITES AND TAKE THOSE SPOTS HEHEHE.

5. SOCIAL MEDIA. Also known as "FREE FUCKING ADVERTISING" Take advantage of "The Internet 2.0"

3. BACKLINKS. Hated these things for a while and didnt really believe they were worth persuing. even built a successful website that has earned me thousands without them. thanks to scrapebox as well as other software (and the people who actually know how to use it) my faith in backlinks has been restored as I have seen significant SERPS gain through them.

If you want my opinion you have a big advantage. You are a member of BHW
Get a break to clear your mind, think carefully what you have learnt in here and how you could apply these on several methods and i am sure you will come up with bright new ideas to make bank.
And as other said IM is not only adsense.
Key for success for me is read - think- hard work - patience.

What in the...

its true and the fact that I was successful without them reinforced that feeling ( my first successful white hat site has less than 200 backlinks (all natural as in I literally did no backlink building of my own) and still makes around $40 a day).

it wasnt until last year when I realized there is a very real art to backlinks (types, frequency, amounts, finding good ones, etc) and I simply didnt know what I was doing before or realized how powerful they can be.
