So one day I was talking to an actual sled dog team musher. We were talking about general stuff, the dogs, the food, the weather, etc... and somehow the conversation moved to the order in which the musher arranged the animals. It was my thought that you'd want the biggest, strongest, "alpha" dogs up front, and the weaker dogs towards the rear and so I sort of said this and the musher corrected me, and said it's the exact opposite. The reason why is the point of this post.
The musher said that, contrary to "conventional wisdom", they put the weakest dogs at the front, and the strongest dogs at the back, and I thought the reason why is extraordinary. It has to do with psychology, and motivation.
If you put the weakest dogs in the back they'd be lazy and would basically have to be pulled by the strongest dogs, in addition to the weight of the sled. But by putting them in front, it enrages the alpha dogs to 1) pull harder and 2) bite and otherwise harass the weaker dog(s) in front of them to pull harder.
Dogs are heirarchical animals. To have an inferior dog in a superior position makes them angry, which them causes them to pull harder in order to pass the weaker animal(s) up front. When the weaker dog gets lazy, it gets bitten and pulls harder to avoid that from happening again. The whole team pulls harder when they are arranged in this manner.
People are hierarchical. The rage the OP feels is normal. When an inferior person (with an inferior mind) has power over you, who interprets your speech in a stupid, unfair, nonsensical manner, it naturally results in rage. It's no accident that the people that are most interested in censoring the speech of others are also those people that are least capable of using speech to express themselves. Those that can, do. Those that can't, teach. And those that can't teach, teach gym. Instinctively these people know they have no talent, and so they naturally migrate towards online roles where they have something else: Power. It's not always true, in all situations etc... but that's the explanation for why it happens and how, most of the time. IMO, Reddit is the worst. As an American, I am particularly offended and insulted when I consider the possibility that my American speech is being censored and controlled by someone who isn't even an American, and English may not even be their 1st language. It pisses me off. If Reddit were (for example) a chinese enterprise, part of chinese culture, where it is considered acceptable to censor the speech of "the community" and I showed up as an American to what is essentially their (online) "living room", I wouldn't object. But a US site, using english but employing chinese-style censorship is unacceptable IMO. Then, when you consider "Big Tech" is a near-monopoly, with a political agenda with overt statements (from senior Google employees) about how they want to influence American elections, I have a serious problem with all of that. They broke up Bell Telephone for much less, and they had much less power.
