I will face some difficulties: Like
separating my MP3 files from wp uploads and host it on a different host with .net version of my domain while I move the .com to DigitalOcean
my challenges is on how to do it without getting a broken download links

What kinda website do you host there? what's the niche? why you exceeded resources? What did their support say?
You gave us practically NO info.
I host with hostwinds and never get anything like that and no down time.

I am running an MP3 download site !
the support are saying that I need to optimize my site which I have done ! Yet they are saying that the fault is from my plugin ( I am just using few plugins ) just tired of there issues

Have anybody use https:// contabo. com/ vps host here? before, DigitalOcean won't be easy for me, i might end up messing my site up

Thank you for sharing... I'll monitor their hosting.
I had a few problems with speed and they actually helped me to make my site faster. Spent over a week talking to them when I moved but so far it's all good but I'll monitor.

Hostwinds was very bad. That's why we have dedicated servers now.

Can I simply create a droplet, install the wordpress image and then point the domain name to the server? Is there a tutorial out there explaining the process?
My siteground hosting is running out in a month and I would like to host 3 websites with a total of around 10k visitors per month on a droplet.
I have never set up the hosting myself so I am sorry for the newbie questions regarding this but I wonder what I need to do to keep receiving emails send to the domains, how to connect the domains to the server etc.
I am not sure if anybody gave you the right answer, but here it is:
Your hosting is creating cookies/cache for every session and since you have loads of traffic on a low hosting plan you either have to:
Disable caching or delete cache or upgrade hosting plan. I don't use HW
For me, destination is: tmp/horde you seek for a folder path that gives you bunch of these files:
cache_fe89jf9e2f8je2882je
or
sess_8fgu8fdug89ufd8g98
you can delete all that, it should be representing cache and sessions details of your visitors if am not wrong, and you don't need any of it, not even cache.

I never directly purchased any account with Hostwinds.
They bought out 2 hosts that I had accounts with; I had 15 wesbites on each host. They took over both of those hosts simultaneously. One was PowerUp Hosting. I had that account with PUH for years, with NO issues.
The instant Hostwinds took over, and migrated the sites to their servers, all 30 of those websites either went down hard or did not work properly.
For what they provide, their price points are ridiculous!
Since their tech support is horrible, I was forced to migrate a total of 30 websites to new hosts.
I understand how you hate them!

I wouldn't just jump right into sysadmin with a few tutorials. Pay for the support if you need it.
