On a Facebook personal profile (homepage), you don’t have the same “button customization” options as on a Facebook Page. By default, Facebook gives two types of actions on a personal profile:
- Add Friend / Follow / Message (depending on your privacy settings)
- Message button (always available if you allow messages from non-friends in your privacy settings)

- Go to your profile
- Click "Edit Profile"
- Find "Add Button" or "Action"
- Select "Send Message" if you want others to send messages to you via Messenger. Or select "Connect" if you have professional mode enabled
- Click Save and Done

The profile page has only a limited number of options (like “Message”, “Follow”, “Add Friend”).

You cannot add a Send Message or connect button to your Facebook profile. These buttons can only be added to a Facebook Page.

On a personal profile, those buttons depend on your privacy settings — usually it’s “Add Friend” or "Follow”, and you can enable the “Message” option in profile settings. For business purposes, switching to a Page or Professional Mode gives you more control and clear CTA buttons.

I actually tried setting it up exactly as you described and switching to Professional Mode, but the buttons still didn't appear on my profile. Could this be due to account limitations?

I see in the picture is a fanpage. Are you trying to create a button for your personal profile? That's not possible. Only fanpages have this feature.

turn on Pro Mode and turn on message requests, because FB personal page doesn't have that feature, it's only suitable for FB Pages

I am also having the same problem, want to create a connection setup between 2 nodes but have not found any feasible solution, I will try some of the ways everyone recommends
