Hay all, I'm new to making money online and I have a few questions.
I want to start making money by writing content but I'm clueless as to how and where to start.
Can someone please point to in the right direction? here what I think my qualifications are:

-I wrote a bunch of articles in a student magazine dedicated to philosophy.
-I'm interested in general in political science and political philosophy and can write articles with somewhat of a logical structure, this means it will have premises and conclusions, and can also write extensively on the U.S. political scene since its an interest on mine
-I'm a Computer Science student so I can write about the field
-I'm really interested in Cryptocurrency as well (Bitcoin, Etherum ..etc) and have been so since 2016 so I can write about them as well.
What do you guys suggest I start doing?
I can work for little as a start I don't mind that I just need to start making money even if little as a start.

Ideally to start stick to what you know.

There are plenty of people and companies out there looking for content writers in Crypto and politics.

Use Upwork and Fiverr to find work.

You seem to have a well-rounded background, probably worth you looking at some writing courses on Udemy.

There is different types of writing - Press releases, informative, buying guides, best of, top 10 etc.

This just about sums up what I'd suggest. If you are adept in one niche, then become proficient in that one niche.

Just one final thing, please don't be tempted to tout for work on here, nor accept offers from members who approach you ( until you upgrade your account at least ), you'd be wasteful to lose your account on here to earn a quick $20.

Look at your competitors. Not everyone choose the same way to propose their services, so the prices range vary greatly.

I recommend the free Hubspot content writing certification.

Find some clients, as Zack suggested. You'll be able to make some money and perhaps a long term business.

Build your portfolio. Are your articles available online? If not, start writing for online sites. Get content published under your name on multiple sites.

Then, use that while applying for writing gigs.

Firstly, google websites that are paying for articles
But from my own experience you don't get much

If you want to get real money from guest blogging your opinion should be valuable for some reason, exactly YOURS
What can help you:
- Amazing portfolio
- Fresh article ideas
- Reputation

If this is a first cold email contact and you are unknown writer I'm not sure somebody would pay you

All I would say is that you don't need to worry. You are blessed with creativity. You are into a profession which is in great demand, as everybody has thoughts but the gift to express those thoughts in words is not easy and has been gifted to some few only. As far as the pay is concerned, yes definitely it varies geographically. But don't give it much of an importance as you are making a start, their is a lot to learn as writing online is a bit different from writing articles for magazines. You have to work in accordance with the demands of search engines. Grab the opportunity you get first. Once you fit in the angle you can search for more options pertaining to your needs and aspirations.

So far, it sounds like you have a terrific start. You've got publication experience and several niches to specialize in. So now you can start pitching to sites that are looking for you. Take a look at these for starters:
Make sure you (1) understand how to use and enforce contracts, (2) have a secure payment process in place, and (3) study each site's writing style to learn what's preferred. While you're waiting for a response from these places, write up some sample articles for each niche and stick them on a professional looking blog with your contact info displayed.

Adding on to @JOSourcing 's comment, here is a list of other search terms you can use with Google I found in my notes. I'm sure they are from BHW somewhere, but I don't have the original post:

i think you should not write for anyone they wont pay you much and think about long term, start a website, see 2020 election is near, take a political side, write article with logic and proof please not *ranting* , write about current affer, with logic and give people what they want, and then go on twitter share it. share with popular people belong to your niche i am 100% they will read your article and if your article is with facts and logic, more and more people will read it share it, also google search will come to your help too, so bro thing about 2020 , do it who knows your article become so popular that mainstream media invites you for political analysis, and then there is no going back bro, good luck bro

Sorry, but I do NOT agree with this statement. That's misleading to an entry-level writer that's seeking a route in this line of work.

Writing for "others" CAN be lucrative and in many cases will be a worthwhile venture if he/she becomes an authority writer that specializes in a particular niche/field.

Set up a WP blog and create posts which may be of interest to you and publish them consistently for a few months. Once structured well, monetize or sell it

yes bro you are right too, but if someone can do things on their own, who know what can happen, i believe people should not be afraid to start things they love on their own, you never know, you never know,

I would recommend you to focus on becoming a provider for crypto related articles. This field is always growing and ponzis need fresh content to fuel the hype. Political articles...well, only if you become a writer for a proper magazine. Depends on what your aspirations are. Do you want to produce webcontent, or become a proper writer? Both are possibilities, but writing commercial content for mills or private clients is probably easiest. Try upwork or go where your clients are...like...people who need crypto content maybe.
