I got fired, time for revenge

This is my perspective not that it matters much. Personally I would look at from this point of view love it loath it you work in a professional environment. Reputation and they way you conduct yourself with your clients proceeds you, In other words you mess with your website the company will let other people know. Help them as far as you can get a testimonial for the work you have done and forget and leave them to it.
It not worth the effort and its not worth ending your career over

I really wonder why the boss didn't pay the salary for the last 2 months. btw,
I like this sentence "Don't fuck with webmaster, who developed a whole website and still has access to the files!"

I'm sorry, but you say you're a web designer from the US? You seem slightly retarded to me. "I didn't got paid" "they didn't paid me out for non-reason"? Eh? If you can't even construct a basic English sentence then it seems very obvious as to why they let you go without payment. As the poster you were attacking here said they probably paid you far more than you were entitled to for what you did.

Why would a company fire you if you were some hot-shot who increased their sales and did a brilliant job only to hire, as you put it, someone who doesn't even know html. I somehow highly doubt this.

You obviously took on work well beyond the scope of your abilities, did a terrible job and got fired in the end. They then hired someone capable and you're bitter towards both the company and the new employee.

With your attitude you are probably going to end up in court getting a reality check and a lesson in how business is done.

And lol, I just read your "and put a link in the footer" comment. Do you have ANY idea how the business world works? You think that if a company hires you on payroll that you get to put your name on the site and own it? Even if you were a contractor you couldn't dictate that to them. They would have to agree beforehand or you would have to "lease" a web site to them. Please, just go and get a job at mcdonalds and leave business to the people who know what they're doing.

Damn, man you should read the thread before replying to it. I'M NOT FROM USA. I wrote this couple times. Well, sorry if I'm not so good in English, I'm from Europe, especially country in which English isn't used at all. Well, blame me, that I can't speak English as good as you can.

Again, read the whole thread. I answered this hundred times. New guy is boss's relative. Website is already developed, and boss hired new guy just to add products on website which I have developed.

just delete the whole site and walk away. He owes you money. Simply do not answer any questions etc They wil lnot be sure you did it or their "new guy" And let their new guy build it back up. Hurry as they might chage the PW's soon.

if it's on your server then invoice them for hosting (couple of grand), give them 30 days to pay the invoice and delete the whole thing, in the mean time remove the transaction function and change all admin passwords.

was there a contract? if not then you can do what you want

I got laid off 2 months ago without getting my severance pay. My position was filled by a person who accepted less pay. Getting my unfair previous employer to give me my package was not easy. I had to pay a lawyer though to make them pay.
I am looking at my job loss as an opportunity to learn something new and maybe make a living with it. I chose to move on.
Get your 2 months pay from the employer and just move on. It feels much better to start a fresh.

I think there are a few key points missing here as what you have said doesn't make sense. From a neural point of view, you need to learn your lessons and move on.

If they have not paid you for the last two months, you are entitled to issue a writ and claim your money back plus costs. There are plenty of no win no fee solicitors that will help you with this. I presume from what you have written, that you do not intend to do this, probably because you are not 100% certain that you will win which begs the question, "why did he not pay you?"

My guess is, there is more to the story. If sensible, you would have addressed the problem after you didn't your monthly salary the first time, not wait for the second non payment to come around and then get sacked. No doubt you saw it coming and had started dragging your heals and looking for other jobs, no doubt during working hours.

I have hired people in the past who start off enthusiastically but soon become lazy. Naturally, they are then given their notice. During their notice period, they turn up late, some days not at all, look for jobs when they should be working and basically do a poor job. They think they are very clever until they receive their final salary, realising that the got paid pro rata for the last month. These same people value themselves far higher than they are worth and find it very difficult to get a job.

If you did such a wonderful job, you would simply recreate your work for yourself and earn lots of money. When you create a site for a second time, it will take a fraction of the time and will be far superior. When you have made lots of money, you will look back thinking that this was the best thing that happened to you.

Certainly wasting your time trashing someone else's business and risking getting into a lot of trouble is not going to help you or him. Put it behind you and move on.

I suggest you help the company out where possible during the change over to ensure they give you a good reference. This will enable you to get a job in the mean time to cover your expenses while you wait for your new site to start generating money. Should you choose to go it alone, you will soon realise that you need all the friends and contacts you can get to give you a hand up the ladder

You are a business professional brother, i know you are pissed but think like a business! Find you a lawyer take them to small claims court, do not change nothing at all.....depending on what state your in. Once you get in court, make sure you have your lap top and with the judge's permission, open it up, logged into the site, and have your old boss new hire show the judge what he knows or does and then make sure you have documentation of everything you did for this company....This actually happen to a friend of mine 3 months ago and what i tell you now is what he did in court..........and WON!

Redirect the page to your bosses worst feared competitor. Call him up, tell him he never bought rights to your server, only use of it while you were working with him. Tell him youll give him full server access and undo redirect for $5,000. He will negotiate down to $2,000 (2500 if youre good).

Done and done.

This is actually 100% true, considering this was a "work-for-hire". This means that they are actually violating your copyright if you decide to assert your rights to the design. This is true whether they paid you or not.

Unless you were an actual employee, or signed a transfer of copyright agreement, you own the website which is hosted on their domain, and can actually demand that they take it down.

LESSON 1: Don't bite the hand that can bring your online business to its knees.

LESSON 2: When hiring a contractor, always have them sign a "Transfer of Copyright Agreement" prior to starting any work.

One question why are you the owner of the design ,script etc ?Didnt you get paid for creating it ?If i'm right you just didnt get paid for last 2 months but this doesnt make you to the owner of a website.You created the website during your worktime so the owner is your boss

Is severance pay something you're entitled to? Thought it was by discretion of the employer (unless it's in your contract obv).
