I got fired, time for revenge

If they didn't pay you and you can't get it out legally - well, make a small change in the code that would stop just one important function, like e-mail sending or receiving and see if they come begging you to fix it.

Redirect every 1000th visitor to a porn site or goatse image :D. That means one customer a day will be in for a rude surprise, and the site owners will not know what the problem is.

scrapebox thousands of porn links, upload some malware script and browsers will warn visitors about "that site is dangerous and could harm your computer" haha 0 sales.

Here is what I'd do. Contact the new guy and tell him to change all the passwords to lock me out. Explain I still have full access through CPanel.

Why? I developed the site I developed admin panel, I wrote the script. Why should I gave out my admin access to the site.

Before I called him, I'd fix all the stuff you broke. No need for liability or revenge. You got paid for what you did. Probably more than what you did and the reason they fired you.

No, I didn't got paid for what I did. They owe me 2 months salary, which they didn't paid me out for non-reason. Read the first post - sales of this company raised up since I went to that company.

I see this all the time as a network professional and webmaster. A guy gets hired, builds a site for a company that doesn't know squat about it but trusts and hires someone to do the job for them. The webmaster figures he's got them over a barrel and then starts to jack off not doing the job he's being paid to do. He gives them BS reasoning and has poor work habits. Finally the company has enough of his BS and hires someone else to replace him. New guy comes in and while he might not be the brightest bulb in the room at least he's eager to work and not jack off the client with BS excuses.

Don't raise guns against me. I've done everything for this company. I was doing more than they paid me for. I was doing scripting and promoting on daily basis. I just took out a company out of a garbage and made it one of the top companies in our city. I've raised uv/day from 10-20 to 1200-1400 uv/day. I was promoting the website, keeping eye on stats, visitors. I was doing online-customer service on the website. I was making great description for each and every product, fancy pictures, fancy description. Don't call this a poor work man - you just don't know what I've done for this company. I deserve respect, but they just fired me. I wouldn't be mad about that if they paid me my 2 month salary which they owe, and final pay-out to give them the website. I wouldn't be mad, if they thanked me for all stuff I've done for them and place a sign in the footer, who developed the website. And finally, I wouldn't be mad, if they gave the access to the right guy, who can improve the work I've don. Boss just thrown me out and gave my position to totally unprofessional guy who doesn't have a clue in web-developing at all. You know why? The new guy is boss's relative. Site was broken - he couldn't fix it and called me asking what to do. It's just all about respect, nothing more. And by the way, new guy broke a site in just one day. I'm just going mad, watching my work going to trash.

Learn your lesson. You fucked up and don't do it again. Last thing you want to do is make it worst on yourself. If they could afford to employ you they damn sure can afford to sue or criminally prosecute you.

Lol, so let it be. I'm waiting for it. But in the court, I will ask them to provide their monthly earnings BEFORE I developed and promoted their website, and AFTER I've done that.

Guys, you just don't know how it feels when someone takes your work out. When someone just throws you out after everything you've done for them.

I SAY: revenge is the best choice, go ahead with that.

They didn't pay you the last two months!!! WTF!!
If a was fired I would destroy the store no matter how. But you have the last word...

I'd say : back up everything, and then deface it anonymously ... That way they will contact you, cause you may still have a backup (since you were working on it) ....

I'd suggest changing the passwords so they can't access the site, and go from there.

Nothing points to me. And anyways, I haven't done any crime. I developed the design, I own it, I can do whatever I want with it

Dude! You driving a Toyota by any chance?

I worked at a Toyota factory for a year and built your car so I own it and can do whatever I want with it!

Gonna come over to pick my car up tomorrow. Be ready!

add dildos and sex toys in the product list ...heheh

Yep revenge is your best choice.

Some people learn from the mistakes of other people, you will have to learn from your own.

Do you sweet revenge, get sued, pay him everything you earned while building HIS website and get done with the lesson.

If they didn't pay last 2 months salary, wouldnt it mean he owns the website?

If you were in the US them not paying you (if you were an inhouse employee), they would be in BIG trouble, to the tune of them owing you money for every day after you were fired until they paid you the amount you were owed.

Not sure how things work in Europe, but I can't imagine it's less protection for workers than the US (I would imagine the exact opposite).

Yeah man! It hurts to see your hard work of so many months getting destroyed ...

If the new guy is really bad, they will realize your value soon, and hire you back!

Oh so sad but dont worry if you have got talent you will earn more.......Good luck...

You made the site, its true, you have the source code? Develop it with more features, change the look a little, change the code here and there, make a better version. In the meantime call their new guy as someone said above, to remove all your access, passwords etc.
Call them up a month later, if they want to buy a better, updated script for $x,xxx. If not, make it even better and sell to their competitors.

Yup I would go to their main competitors and tell them what you did and what you could do for them. That would be the best revenge IMHO. Once the competitor starts beating them then I would let them know you were behind it. They will regret firing you for the rest of their lives. Of course take your site that you built and improve on it and make it way better for the competitor!

Whatever you end up doing be careful. Considering you just got fired...depending on how large the company is theres a good chance they'll know it is you. If I were you and reallllly wanted revenge, i would wait and give them a chance to forget me.

My companies site was built from developers and it is ours...all they do is fix our problems and add features. Still our site, even though they can steal our ideas and use them for other clients :(

Good luck man

No offense but what you are saying is that you worked hard, made the script, wrote the articles, designed photos and did the seo and then he fired you to hire a newbie that does not know anything. Does the new guy know anything about design, seo etc?

Were you making money for him or not? People are looking like crazy to find other people that will make money for them on autopilot and your boss fired you?

You are either not exactly and entirely saying the truth or your boss is clearly retarded.

Anyway, you dont own anything. You can sue him for the money he has not paid you but if you were employed what you did was part of your job.

Thanks for all of you guys.

I decided to revoke my admin rights and leave the site alone. Let it be so, my work is getting destroyed, it hurts, but I have to deal with it. New guy will destroy it very soon and they will regret that fired me. I just love to see their sales going down without my help and promotion. I saved the source, the script and will be improving it. I'm working for couple companies as well, maybe I could find use of the scripts for other projects.

No offense but what you are saying is that you worked hard, made the script, wrote the articles, designed photos and did the seo and then he fired you to hire a newbie that does not know anything. Does the new guy know anything about design, seo etc?

Yes, that's correct. I did all the stuff. I made the script, I added products, I made fancy design, I did SEO, I scripted on daily basis, Advertised on daily basis, fixed stuff on daily basis, improved on daily basis. And right now, the site is just great. But don't be so surprised that they replaced me by the newb who doesn't know anything. Boss hired him because he's boss's relative and he asks for far less money, because all he does right now is just add the products. He can't do any other stuff and there might be no any need doing other stuff in the near future, until something's broke and something needs fixing. Site will be on flow for some time, but without improvements, it won't last long. Boss thinks that everything is finished, site is done and it will last long with just adding the products, but that's not true. All IMers know that.

Were you making money for him or not? People are looking like crazy to find other people that will make money for them on autopilot and your boss fired you?
Yes, the company's income raised dramatically after all the stuff I've done.

You are either not exactly and entirely saying the truth or your boss is clearly retarded.
Boss just thinks that everything is done and there's no need of improvements, because I've already done great stuff and added some big authority to that company's name. He hired his relative to work for far less salary. The only thing the new guy have to do is add products.
