I don't understand this

Are you using any tools (Scrapebox, etc.)? Search around here you can usually find some pretty good list and then like Scritty said sort out the ones with low out bound links. If you don't have scrapebox just search "online bulk outbound links" and go from there. That and search backlinks here and just read everything that isn't trying to sell you something (not that you shouldn't look into services, if you have some money go for it there are some good providers here from what I've seen). Also look at your first page competition. If you can get their backlink profiles (open site explorer), just take the time to go through them one by one and try getting the same links, that's a sure-fire way to climb up, albeit labor intensive (I have been putting that off for some keywords for sometime now, lol). The simple point, if you know how your competitor got there, than you know how to get there too.

Thx for the help guys but i'm really looking for HOW I can obtain these lists. I have scrapebox and I've been through my competitors links numerous times but only managed to get around 3 backlinks, which were blog comments.

I understand that I can use scrapebox to harvest these lists but the question I am asking is how.

I've already been through alot of lists but I am looking for new lists. For example I've used phpbuilts list of web 2.0s (tumblr, wordpress, blogspot, blog, ubpages etc etc etc_ but I am looking for different ones.

Before somebody replies with "u need to harvest lists" or "check out some lists of websites" I already know about this but am looking for HOW to get new lists

Just had a look at that learnseotricks website and the only guides they have is rubbish about how to get links from statistics sites etc lol...

bump

this remains a mystery ? :(

is seo bs? do ppl just pretend that they have sites ranked?

Dude, I don't think you're looking hard enough for the information. I just pulled a list of 107 web 2.0 and site builders from this forum, albeit in a different section. There are several AA lists as well. I just can't post links yet with my account =P.

There are also discussions in this section of the forum about the different types of links that could potentially provide link juice to your site or tiers linking to your site. Seriously though, what is your linkbuilding strategy? Are you only getting links for web 2.0's?

I've already got links several times from the list of 100 web 2.0s but need more domain diversity. And my link building strategy is diverse as possible, well i try to make it be. So far today I have sat here trying to get links from different domains, I've been through all my competitors backlink profiles but I wasted about 2 hours going through them to get 1 backlink.

Time spent today - 5 hours - backlinks created: 1

What software are you using to automate?

bill4091, you really only have a few options if you are looking to get backlinks from unique locations each day. This is what I have used or seen in the past work, but again, with the recent Penguin updates, ANY kind of link manipulation does come with risks.

1. Utilize a guest blogging platform to post relevant content - I utilize PostRunner, which is found at The Keyword Academy. < this is an affiliate link so if you don't like that use this link. This platform is very useful as they have 1000s of websites where you get unique locations for backlinks, BUT you have to send through high quality, relevant and helpful content! No crap allowed.

2. Create stunning content that naturally people want to share with others. It's all over the place now, and you probably know this already, but the type of content that can give you natural backlinks requires a significant effort, but it can and does work.

3. Create a network of sites that is managed privately for the purposes of creating highly qualified links. While not the cheap way to go and could be dinged quickly if google finds it, it is one of the last ways to get what you are looking for.

All in all, links are everywhere, but as you have expressed, finding unique locations is not that easy.

Regards,

Shawn

You are trying to rank a kw with only 2500 searches, and claim to have built out blogs/articles on over 100 different web2.0s?

You almost definatly have some kind of penalty, probably over optimized anchors (penguin).

Unless this term is some ultra high paying legal/insurance niche, with such a small amount of searches i would expect to be able to rank with 10-20 decent web2.0s and some random spam thrown in for good measure.

No way you have exhausted BHW lists and not achieved 1st page for that term unless you got a penalty.

thx for the responses guys but I really would like to know what I should do to make backlinks now. Do I just leave my site and not create anymore backlinks?

and to the above response, my anchor text is extremely varied. And you can rank a 2.5k search keyword with just 10 web 2.0s? really? I've made so many web 2.0 sites even to a site which im trying to rank with 1.3k searches and it's not first.

WhenI build my web 2.0s, I do some automatic and some manual. The ones with senuke x are of quite bad quality with no images and probably leave footprint. This is why I manually create a bunch and change the theme, add images, videos and other links to make it appear as natural as possible.

I havent built any links for 3 days now and my site is still sitting at 16th. I just want to know what I should be doing right now because it seems wrong to not make anymore links to my site but it seems like a waste of time creating more links from the same web 2.0 sites that I have.

I've submitted my site to a bunch of article directories using AMR which had no effect so I doubt that finding more article directories is gonnas help me. I've submitted to so many directories also so it seems pointless finding more directories to submit to. I really don;t know what I should be doing right now and it seems that link building has no effect on rankings.

So my question is - What should I be doing to build backlinks right now because it seems like im wasting a lot of time by sitting here and not building a single link

How are you guys spending time backlinking? I have been searching my competitors backlinks using alexa and I get like 1 backlink in an hour. Seems like a total joke and waste of time

bump - I made this thread 1 week ago I would of thought somebody would of gave me an answer by now :(

Your niche might be ultra competitive. Just because you have low search traffic kw doesnt mean its going to be easy. If your first page is full of age high pr domains then you are going to have alot of trouble with ranking. If this is the cause you might want to buy a aged domain and 301 this domain into that and restart on the aged domain.

Lets talk about your site then we will work with backlinking.

How does your site look?
Is your home page static?
Do you have a large header or Image above the fold?
When you site updates do talk about the same thing over and over or are you broadening your topic a bit.
Did you link out to someone besides amazon?
Are you linking to more then just your homepage? Cause if your not your sailing the fail boat to storming seas filled with penguins.

You might think about not building more web 2.0s but adding more content to your web 2.0's also try back linking to them make them mini sites. If they rank in the top 50 then you know they are passing good link juice.
I find it best to build web 2.0's by hand, what I do is write and spin 10 articles and randomly drop 3-5 on each web 2.0. I always have the web 2.0 link to itself various times for the keyword im trying to rank. I also make it link to someone besides myself, wikis, authorities, maybe something niche related but not going for my keyword.

Finally you need to head over to fiverr and buy a gig that posts to blog networks. Their are a few good providers that have large networks or that will post to large networks like UAW.(I dont suggest my network for this, this isnt a promotional thing. Their are larger networks and this is what I suggest for your situation)

Also you could try some white hat shit like ezines and guest posting. Thous make nice teir 1s then naturally you would spam the shit out of thous to give them more linking power to you.

The bottom line and the simple answer is that you need to increase your pagerank - a lot. If you can get up to something like pr6, you'll not only get back to #8, but you'll rank higher than that even.

I'm a link broker. I have pr8 and pr9 links (with low OBL) available that would do the job, but they require a very high budget. If you don't have the budget for them, at least try to get yourself a few low OBL pr6-pr7 links to get your pagerank up. You should see a difference even with those, though not nearly as dramatic as the difference you'd see with a pr8-pr9 link or two.

Chances are very good that you're competing against sites that have one or all of these: higher pr than you, more domain authority than you, higher mozrank than you, domain age

So regardless of how many backlinks you build (value of backlinks is far more important than number of backlinks), in order to compete with them, if you can't beat them by at least a little in 3 of those 4 of those categories, then you need to be able to really squash them in 1 of those categories. The easiest one to get is actually PR, and it's the most valuable. Crush their pagerank, and watch your rankings soar.

Same thing happened to my site, blame it on the Penguin.

Start getting HIGH quality links, quality over quanitiy is the new game
