I don't understand this

So I have a website which is full of high quality, niche related content. I started building backlinks a while ago and managed to get it ranking for an easy competition keyword with 2,500 exact searches.

For the past few months I have been building a number of backlinks daily but they are always from the same domains (same web 2.0's , same article directories (AMR), same press release directories and same social bookmarking sites (digg etc)

I spend hours building these links everyday but my site just keeps dropping lower and lower. It's now gone from 8th to 14th.... All i;ve been doing is building high quality backlinks.

I am getting frustrated atm as i beleive there is no point in continueing to build backlinks from these same domains all the time as it seems like a waste of time!

I have just sat here for literally 2 hours trying to find ways to get new types of backlinks. I have searches a number of forums but I seem to get the same answers (build web 2.0s, article directory etc.. ) Yes know about these types of links but I have built thousands of these types of links in the past few months and they are always from the same domain and just recently my site has been going down rather than up.........

I just don;t understand how people are constantly getting fresh backlinks and I am quite annoyed with SEO atm.

Please somebody help me out so I can spend my time creating backlinks again. I have loads of time I can spend on SEO but it's all going to waste atm as im just sitting here trying to find out how to get fresh backlinks. I havent created any backlinks today because I don;t want to keep getting links from the same domains as it is only hurting my rankings.

So what am i to do now? is my site screwed? how do people get backlinks from a number of different domains? I used the scrapebox tutorial on here to get niche related blog comment backlinks but I keep getting bs results which have 0 OBL and never get approved.

The other day i wasted around an hour looking through the results i got on scrapebox before i finally realised that I was wasting stupid amounts of time going through all these blogs with 0 OBL.

I just really don;t understand how people are getting fresh backlinks from different domains everyday and it seems like it is a mystery and nobody knows :S I hope somebody can help, i want to get back to work on building backlinks

Hi,

My first question is how old is your website?? From my experience to get a stable position with google and to fix it on a specific position takes anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 month, depending on what type of links and how aggressively you are building them. I would personally suggest not to go very aggressively, and build them on the constant level every day or two . I say this because of the latest google updates and not enough information about what exactly it targets. I had two websites ranking on first pages for targeted keywords and now they are gone because of the update. Interestingly I had no bad links pointing to them.

Therefore, if your website is new dont panic its normal for the website to jump places, after you build a certain amount of links it fixes, depends on the competitiveness of the industry as well. in a mid competitive environment I found that with about 60-100 good links if fixes to one place and doesnt jump to often. If you continue to add links usually it only climbs upwards.

However, if your website is half year and more old you might've been hit by the latest Penguin. Type "penguin" here in BHW's search and you should be able to find good tips.

I would not suggest you to submit your website to the directories, search on google about this topic because google will be penalizing many directories now.

Is your contact information easily displayed on the page and does it show that the page is regularly updated? That can help with rankings As far as backlinks, have you tried any nofollow plugins that will show if a page has ******** links?

Interlink all of the pages on your site.

Really focus more on Unique Content than on Backlinks. Also when you do a lot of backlinks you sometime's go into the thing everyone call the Google Dance. You will go up and down on the Search Engines. This usually settles in a couple of weeks, sometime's more. But just keep adding Unique Content. If google found your website then I can Guarantee you every time you post new Unique Content then you will be Indexed almost instantaneously, and very good chances that you will rank very well too. If you are using wordpress at all then I would suggest setup a nice large Ping List. and Use some plugin like Only Wire to post to most of the Social Networks for Quality real traffic generating Links, this will also make better for G to index you fast and rank you good.

Just want to add another thing.

Everything should look Natural!!! The SE Algorithms and spiders are very clever these day's.

If things doesn't look natural then you might find yourself in the Sandbox very quickly. So look at what you are doing and analyse and
see if it looks natural to you. If not then you have your answer.

The problem with ranking and things on G is always time time and patience. Don't cheapen it or try and speed it up in BH way's then it won't last very long.

I don't think you quite understood what i mean in my original post. How are you getting backlinks from unique domains each day? Like is there a method which I can use to get backlinks from different sources other than the same web 2.0, article directory, social bookmarking services etc ? ?

This is the question I am asking, I am not asking about on site optimization... its off site optimization.

I don't know about anyone else but most of my good quality unique backlinks come from paid sources such as private blog networks.

But be very careful when selecting your private blog networks as some of these have been penalised recently.

Yes I currently use a private blog network which accepts only unique content which are the highest quality backlinks that my site gets.

I don't wanna just make blog network links only because I feel as if I need some diversity.

I havent made backlinks to the site for over 3 days now because I just don't know how to find new sources. Checked my rankings today and it's down another 6 places :S

I really have no idea what to do and am getting to the point where I'm thinking of sacking SEO alltogether because it seems like bs to me and nobody can give me a simple answer as to how they get unique backlinks daily...

You do know there are tens of thousands of different blogs, bookmarking sites, WEB2.0's, Directories, Article sites, WIKI's
Backlinking to the same URL from the same site more than once has very limited value.

Get a big list of sites, scan them in scrapebox for PR and OBL - filter out the best (PR1 or higher, less than 100OBL's maybe) and get going.

Diversify QUICKLY. It sounds as if you are over optimizing your offsite SEO from a very small set of sites - not good practice.

First do you have unique content or all copied?
Because copied wont gonna help you at all.
But if they are unique and you are creating backlinks then just have some patience to see the result, sometimes Google dance happen and all goes up and down.
Also I can refer you a website from where you can learn some SEO and creating free backlinks.

Thanks so much for your help! Much appreciated! Do you know a method so I can find big lists of seperate sites. For example a method for finding big lists of web 2.0 service sites ? I thought that the only web 2.0 sites were those included in phpbuilts list, which I have already made high quality blogs from.

I think there's your problem.

Try here as well

Lists are all over the place - inlcuding many on this forum. Use the search function for "lists" and see what you get.

Best is to scrape your own though (get scrapebox or or use Xrumer Hrefer)

Remembner to backlink your WEB2's

Also (a pet gripe of mine) there is no reason on gods earth why anyone would stick to WEB2.0's exclusively for the first tier of sites.
Any high PR low OBL high traffic site is a great place for a 1st tier. If you can add content around your link (context is getting more and more important) then all the better, but don't get hung up on this idea that every 1st tier site has to be a WEB2.0...you're just making it easier for Google to spot a footprint if you think about it.
