I mention not long ago about the similar content will help other viral videos, well that's wrong. The problem is the title, i sacrifice my newest video just to test this, i change the title of my newest video similar to the viral i'm having and you know what, the newest get more views but... it reduce the old one to nothing... now i switch the newest one back and it's going to die now, but the old one is back again... LOL
I switch title of this video similar to the viral one and it gain a bit of views but killing the above one and i must switch them back after 2 hours and everything is back to normal...
The newest one is dying very quickly, even retention rate is nearly 90% and engagement is extremely high. But changing title can give it new life, however it fcked up other viral videos
This is quite problem, each new video may hurt the old one if i fail to make unique title... So it's true about the myth that new video can hurt channel ( not like it's going to hurt directly but it's all about the title ).
So advice is If you change title and see more views from overall channels, change it, if it only gain views from 1 video but hurt all other videos, revert it back ! Gonna bookmark this myself if i forget this LOL

Views from community tab can trigger your video to get views from suggested or browse features. It's not a 100% guaranteed outcome but it definetly won't hurt your video at all. Of course if all the external views have low retention then they might do more harm than good but that's your own fault then if your video quality is bad. Endscreen views, social media views, community tab, views from google search etc. are all good sources to get your video to the next level but it's never a guarantee.

i dont think it will hurt, this is the result after i run it over 1 day, doesnt hurt anything
The newest video i make is a sad video, i think that video wont go viral because it may end someone watching season and they will cry LOL

My point is external views do not create an impression.
1000 suggested views = Algorithm gives you 7000 more impressions in suggested
1000 community tab views = 0 impressions therefore no push in suggested however it will help you rank in search

it does not yield impression but it helps trigger algorithm, one of my video go viral after publishing for 20 hours, at first, that video only have 60 browse feature in the first 16 hours, after i share it to reddit at that hour to get 20-30 external views, just after 4 hours, it gain over 40k views/hour ( the first page of this post ).
So TLDR, external views is very good ! ( atleast for reddit ). I'm not sure about external from community tab, i havent tried it for initial boost because 99% of my videos always trigger algorithm after 1 hour or 1 day at this moment so i stop posting on reddit

We can both agree external views help boost the search ranking and it doesn't boost suggested obviously because external views don't provide impressions which is also proven from your screenshots.
However maybe it helps other videos be recommended on the home page? In your screenshots your browse features views do really well so I assume its recommended?

it helped from homepage, i never get suggested views because i'm not familiar with that kind of views, it's literally on the first page and i already include the browse feature in it, 99% views come from browse feature when i use external. Maybe u are misunderstanding me
Btw it actually gain a tiny little bit of suggested views

Just because in your experience it didn't boost to suggested doesn't mean it doesn't work for other people. This whole THREAD is about external views and they are extremly helpful. Of course they don't have impressions DUH but they will trigger the algorithm regardless. Of course the external views source has to be a trusted website and not some indian type of website with no trust score. I had plent of videos do better on suggested and browse feature because they had external views in the first few hours. Stop spreading misinformation.

Under which form should a YT video be posted on Reddit? I see posts displaying the video in itself and others displaying the URL only? What is better? and what about those who say that uploading the video on reddit's own site then posting the YT link as the first comment is lmore profitable because of Reddit videos' autostart?
