Hi
I did not understand the latest Google update
After the update, I lost many visitors
I was on the first page with 2 keywords, now I am on page 5
What did this update target?

They have jobs to do, they doing it well by confusing and shuffling things up and down. They don't care what work you do in some cases and some cases they do judge all factors.

God knows which random site they pick for there game now and then. They know we can't go away so they play is very beautifully.

No one understands this update.

So carry on your business as usual.

Most likely they did some kind of reset on some IA data which resulted in this chaos.

It was a second core update known as “May 2020 Core Update.” Google’s guidance remains exactly the same as all Core updates. Everyone is getting a certain rank drop but there is nothing to Fix in your website. Keep posting quality content and you can update your content as per trends in 2020.

Yup, noone really understand this update as it managed to f up some quality sites and rank up some black hat, and also did opposite to some...

The latest update is widely felt to have provided more evidence that much of what Google does is use 'updates' to bluff about its ability to properly rank sites, in order to intimidate webmasters into giving up on figuring out SEO, and just buy more Google ads.

Almost 22 days gone. But still not understand this update

The biggest factor I've seen is them pruning and devaluing links, but not in every instance, so it's still a bit of a head scratcher. That's nothing new when it comes to these updates. I personally think Google is constantly tweaking ranking signals. Think of it like a +/- system. This update may give more weight to title tags, or H tags and diminish the value of other factors. Then they tweak the next update to give a "+" to other ranking signals, while dialing back on previous signals that they gave weight to. It's all part of the game. Continue to stick to the fundamentals and over time you will see a net gain on traffic and rankings. Understand that there are going to be times in the life of your website, which you lose rankings and traffic. It's part of the game and something you need to accept as an SEO if you are going to succeed.
