What they say as to who they support and where the money really goes are probably 2 different things.Does your lottery support a large charity or anything? Our lottery funds charities and the Olympic athletes, so at least if you lose, you know we still might get a gold at the next Olympics!
I don't believe any of their rhetoric as it is spoken by a public official; not unlike hearing a lawyer speak.

In the event that the world fell off it's axis and I won it would be "pay me now".
I have a handful of kids, a bunch of team members and an Amex bill from this past week to take care of and a 20 year payout won't work in that instance.

Not too familiar with the rules but if you go with the "pay me now" mode you lose like 40% of the prize money, is this correct?

Yeah there is a diminishing benefit from taking it in full as opposed to an annuity but I trust my knowledge there as opposed to the State of Florida when it comes to my money.

I once did win in a lottery (that was the only one time I've ever bought a lottery ticket in my life) and I won US$2000 (only) : not the top prize.
