I completely lost my trust in "Content Is King"

How are you monetizing it? Have you also tried taking adsense approval with this method?

You need both so the whole argument is pointless.

Crap content = poor bounce rate, low reading times, poor click through rates, etc.
No Backlinks = stuck on page 30.

It is highly dependent on keyword and niche and this means knowing your competition. If your niche has lots of sites with 1000's of backlinks you need to compete on the same scale or never get up higher enough in the rankings for your good content to be seen. If your niche has 1-5 backlinks for a low competition keyword then your content might get to page 1 easily enough and only need a small push at the beginning. Its all NICHE and KEYWORD and COMPETITION specific.

Generalizations = Assumptions = Incorrect conclusions.

If they will coutch you with this site, buy new domain and move it there

Spun content ranks even better (low competition keyword of course). The results of 4 months spun content website is better than my 8 months "quality" website. That's quite easy to explain because with spun content it's easier make it longer. Of course,

This is a good point, Google is yet to prove their algo can detect what good content is. Long articles seem to win no matter 'quality'.

I would still invest in hand written content for the long run to avoid manual penalty. But wouldn't certainly go for the expensive writers.

Firstly - I dont think your english is bad OP, my is similar. Though I heard many times that my is bad but in the end I never realized whats wrong with it. I try to write like my favorite bloggers and if they dont make errors, i dont make them either (in 90% of text at least). I have an english website but I was born in Germany.

Secondly, I wouldnt put that content of my website, but... Spun content works, no content works, image content works, anything works, as long as there is:
1. relevancy of any kind
2. no serious technical issues
3. at least average UX signals
4. more & stronger backlinks than competition

If as you said, you have sales on spun content, then you should replace it with HQ content and convert much better.

Thirdly, a lot of people in SEO industry (and in this thread) seem to think that content works the same way that backlinks do. Thats simply not true.

What good links do:
1. Push your site higher in the SERP

What good content does:
1. Creates brand
2. Gets better UX (ux matters mainly in top 10 or top 5 positions, not when you're 30th or 50th)
3. Creates trust, therefore it Converts better (more sales)
4. Makes people link out to you.

What people think content does:
1. Google can see how carefully this art masterpiece is written, how many keywords it contain, images, 5k words, and decides to rank this above useless Wikihow page.

I am sure that in 2019 theres an AI technology out there that can write and read human-readable content that couldnt be distinguished from spun content, AND THAT technology for sure could work the way links do, but its also for SURE something Google didnt implement yet, and most likely wont implement in a long run.

About 4... You must realize that very small percent of people who visit your website are webmasters, even smaller % of them will link out to you, and even smaller % of them have any links pointing to their websites

So with great content you will slowly make natural links but only if you have TON OF visitors daily. Backlinks are the only way to rank, and for most of us natural backlink growth is not possible because we dont have the traffic yet. So to get any traffic, first we need to artifically create backlinks while also creating good content.

If you offer programming services/graphics design/sell proxies/have an mp3 download site or anything like that, of course visitors won't care about your filler content. In fact, disclosing the fact that your content sucks and is just for SEO may even increase trust and rapport in some cases.

But when doing actual content marketing (articles containing affiliate links for example), even sub-par content will reduce your conversions greatly. Spun content will result in a 100% bounce rate and zero clicks to your affiliate link.

I truly beleive that Google no longer publishes its "rule book" because the rules are crap and it's nowhere near as intelligent as people think.

I will have to disagree with this statement. Google is a company that stays on the cutting edge of technology, AI, ML you name it. Their algorithm is by far the most advanced search algorithm in the world. No other search engine or company even comes close. That said, some updates do leave behind a trail of spam sites on the SERPs and end up punishing the good ones.

And yet here we are out-smarting them!

In simple word, it is always risk. When you come top position, the competitor will notice and complaint if they find you are using spun content.

If you want to become an authority, you must avoid such low quality and spun contents.

Spun content is garbage.

Use your computer and mobile phones mic if you don't wanna write yourself.

YouTube something relevant. Example "how to fish with your bare hands".

Open microsoft Word on your phone and use voice to text. Write a unique article everytime...

A video length of 3 minutes is usually 900 words btw.

I do this for my guide section in my buyers guides or how to's.

Maybe short term yes, but.. For the long term unique and quality content will win always from those spun garbage.

Maybe you can outsource writing? Because it seems you aren't that good in copywriting if spun is better than your own articles.

Are you sure ?, check a thread here, the guy used only spun content to make streaming site. He made 10,000 a month.

Yes I am sure. Because somebody scores great results with it it doesn't mean it is like that in general.

Yes they come with manual review when ever we going big. I got it yesterday for links

Mind sharing what you were doing and why do you think this happened? Also if you think you did any mistake, or anything that could be done differently to avoid that?

Thanks

Rankbrain factors in User Experience indicators like Bounce Rate.

Typical spun text won't do well with Rankbrain unless you are prepaed spend time and money getting your spun text edited

If that's the case, why not just get quality, engaging content in the first place

Spun content works until you get a manual review. It's great for churn and burn.

If you're building a real, authority type site, you need great content.

I would take this advice if I was you. Anyways, at the time you profiting from this website, build another 5 because you never know when the review will come.
