I built my first site 8-9 months ago. At that time I always believe "Content Is King". It took me so long to complete only one article. After testing in the last 4 months with spun content. I can say that what I used to believe is not true. Google does not penalize my site. eventhough my site is not in tier 3 language, it's english.

Spun content ranks even better (low competition keyword of course). The results of 4 months spun content website is better than my 8 months "quality" website. That's quite easy to explain because with spun content it's easier make it longer. Of course, I have to tell my visitors that the content just for Google Bot. Guess what? They dont care. They still contact me and I got sales.

I only spent 4 days for spinning and edting 80 spun articles and the results is better.

Total cost:
$20 group buy Wordai, Grammarly ( not only for this site but I used it for movie site having 200 movies content spin lol).
1 domain to test the result: cheap shit domain .pw $1
Hosting: I already have my host for all websites.
$0 to hire content writers.

And people say spun cotent is useless.

I changed my approach with english site to "Spun Content is king" lol. "Quality" sites may convert better but the cost is so high. I will make 10 spun sites soon. Domains are already purchased. Wish me luck !.

To add to the above, spun content also doesn't convert for affiliates (you'll have a hard time convincing people to buy even with good content), I prefer quality. Of course, a bunch of spun garbage on a blackhat CPA website is fine if it ranks and you make some bank, but it's not sustainable.

Spun content works until you get a manual review. It's great for churn and burn.

If you're building a real, authority type site, you need great content.
So you mean Google will review it or just because your competitor report your site.

Enjoy while it lasts ... it's either google will manual review if it meets some criteria... Like in some cases how much traffic your site gets for example if you are reaching 4k traffic a day something like that.. or competitor sees your site as a threat , especially if you are in a competitive niche. Trust me competitor will report you some play dirty filing spam complaints or even fake dmca's trust me dude sooner or later your gonna be found by google's manual review team. Better provide value with great content.. invest in content .. My friend has been there done that scenario.. His site was ranking for spun content literally spun content which is auto generated. Was enjoying the ride until then he got manual review for pure spam.. Its almost impossible to bounce back . There is still traffic but not that like before.

Content is not king; backlinks ARE! And I happen to be someone who sells content for a living.

That being said, your conclusion is all wrong. Spun content can only rank (not sell) until there's a manual review or somebody reports your site. And besides, what's the point if you don't get sales out of ranking your posts? A whole lotta work for nuthin'!

Handwritten content is the way to go, my friend. At least till the time AI becomes capable enough.

4k a day? lol I only need 4k a month to make $400 - $500. I dont need and expect that much traffic especially for spun site, but yeah. If my competitor report me my site will be banned. That's a part of the game.

In some niches (selling Udemy Courses for example) Trust me, gargage content can make sales. What I worry is not conversion rate but Google Penalize.

But once someone visited your site and fail to understand your content, he/she will never click your link again. If you want to stay in for the long run, Content is king.

Actually have interest in what you are selling, if you have genuine interest you will create genuine authority content that kicks ass and the rankings will come.

How likely is such a manual review from your experience? My most successful spam site is 2.5 years old now and had 250k+ visitors since then and is still going strong on Google search. It is not an English site though, maybe the are less strict with manual reviews for other languages.

It depends on the keyword they're looking for, If I provide theme, shared VPN accounts, shared Netflix accounts, Shared Udemy Accounts so why do they need to read the content? Of course I have to tell them at the begining of the article. In this case content is only for Google.

The problem is the cost of the content. My english sucks.

I'm willing to test this theory out on a new site. Interested to see how it ranks. Not every site needs users to read the content so this would be perfect.

Consider yourself lucky bro.. non-english content might be the reason.. but there are so many factors.. I might try this soon too..

Yes they come with manual review when ever we going big. I got it yesterday for links

and this is what minority of people on BHW have been telling for years. But lets still pretend that content is the ultimate king, we are all paying $10 / 100 words article and so should you if you want to rank

I don't want to be that guy who says content is not a ranking factor. But, links are definitely one of the biggest, if not the biggest ranking factor in SERPs. I mean, take a look at the news sites, for instance, almost all of them spin content without adding anything extra and still manage to rank top for high volume keywords. That too with articles that have less than 300 words.

In your case, the spun content helped because you were trying to rank for low competition keywords. Google can't review each and every website on the Internet manually to see if you're writing a 100% unique or an 80% unique or even a 50% unique content for that matter. However, if your article is copypasta, then it will definitely be caught by the algorithm automatically, resulting in penalization. Otherwise, it doesn't really matter!

For low competition keywords or any keywords for that matter, Google algorithm just searches for matching keywords (mostly, there won't be the authority sites writing on such keywords), and finds your content to have the same, so it just ranks. If a site with a higher number of outbound links writes a decent article (may not be better than yours') on the same keywords, they'll outrank you. Simple!

Edit: The content has to be decent though, not some outright BS

The "content is king" theory is not unfounded, though. Good content will outperform spun content in all cases.
