Just because he is a citizen of india, doesn't mean he has to follow Indian culture.

This goes for everyone from any part of the world, just "change" the culture your following if its going to limit you in life. No need to be a follower and a poser.

Don't worry mate. Some parents are like that. They think if you earn online, it's not a steady income. Some others think that's illegal lol ;)
And about your grades, don't worry. 9.4/10 is pretty good. And I think that's the CGPA hence it's multiplied by 9.5 to get the %. Which is - 89.3 or roughly taken 90%. This is awesome for a guy who does IM and at the same time study. But just because your parents discourage you, it doesn't mean they hate you. It's because they like you that they care for you. Sometimes, they give advises that sometimes sounds dumb to our generation. Whatever you do, remember that when all's good and done, it's your parents that will stick with you. As far as I'm concerned, it's your wish to pursue whatever career you like. Just let your parents know how much you're making and try to convince them of the endless possibilities :)

Thanks alot everyone. Now i am all clear and without confusion. My friends although get better grades, but they don't know how it feels to wake up and first thing to do is to check earnings and smile.
Thank you all for making me realize. I will do what i want.

Very good, Im glad that you feel better and please dont worry for your grades, 9.4 is still a good one considering the amout you make per month and compared to how much your classmates are earning(!). Just to give you my example I was not used to get only 10, I was averaging on 9 and that just because most of the subjects were boring and did not managed to captivate my attention. Im still a newbie in IM, I learn everyday little by little but you know what? The ex classmates who got only 10 is earning less with a 9 to 5 than Im earning right now from IM and at the moment Im not by far a high earner, not yet but definitely will, Im on my way. I just compared the average wage they get from my country to my earnings.
Follow your passion and let it kill you.

Mate Making money is awesome. But to me study is the exit plan. Things never gonna be the same as it is. I am always the guy with exit plan. ;)
 
Marks are useless.
Marks don't prove your intelligence.

Idiot people that learn by heart can have good marks, but they are not smart either.

I'm not forcing you to have bad marks, just trying to explain that marks only are important in studies.
Keep in mind that it's only a number on a sheet of paper.

His mother had him in her womb for 9 long months....both his dad and mother did everything possible to make his life easier and better. They just want better for him that's why forcing him to become a doc or an engineer.

@op, no need to open such thread :) Just keep doing what you love, and they will take it seriously soon enough.

Be patient, shut your mouth, do your work and wait for the glorious time.
