I've had a few addictions and I just dropped them when I realized it was affecting my decisions or my health. I'll still do them occasionally but I know the consequence that follows. You can ask for all the help in the world but the final decision to quit or not depends on you.
When I was drinking everyday I noticed I was depressed and didn't want to feel like that anymore because I couldn't get any work done (job wise and internet marketing).
When I was smoking (because it helped my anxiety) I realized I dealt with my anxiety for how many years without cigarettes, why only now did I need it? Quit smoking in 6 months.
Just find something to channel your frustration/worries/problems/etc to something else other than drugs/alcohol. A lot of people classify it as meditation.
Doesn't have to be where you sit down and ohm to yourself. Maybe try going for a run after work instead of having a beer. Playing video games is my meditation because it relaxes my brain and my problems are forgotten. Hope this helps.
