Hummingbird has exposed so much bullshit

While I agree for the most part about what you said, I am almost sure that this is a real update. It would explain the movement I have been seeing from about 1 month ago.

Still don't know why people spend so much time at MOZ, SEJ,SEL etc etc...those sites are there so their owners can earn money out of people visiting their sites (you). There is nothing much worth reading over there.
Articles like:"5 ways to use Twitter for business"are made for one purpose only- Link building.

They (MoZ and the company) are full of shit about white hat but we all know that 50% of those articles are there so somebody can get a backlink. You don't believe me?

So, MOZ get money just by having this huge ass authority promoted by Google webmasters team, writers get money by writing articles for link building and agencies get money by promoting their brands on MOZ, simple as that. It's a huge black hat network.

This!!

And people eat it up...

This is exactly why I turned away from SEO and started focussing on other traffic generation ways.

I agree 100% I just go to seroundtable to see if there is any google update if I see an fluctuation in rankings as that is one which reports quite fast and generally gets confirmation from google also.

Just another day in the life of...

Do I care about Hummingbird? No, not in the slightest. Do I really want to waste my time reading about it? Again, no! White-hat propaganda, that's all it is.

Personally my rankings have improved over the last month. Most of us here have got a system that's working, a combination of whatever we've tested. Just go with the flow and tweak here and there if need be.

I think there is a [method] around here somewhere that explains how to do what you guys are complaining about. Caching in on peoples knee jerk re-actions. It goes something like this, "1. Wait for word of a new Google update, 2. slap prewritten articles and graphs on a blog, 3. rank on the new keyword and buzz, 4. take money from n00bs"

shhh...you'll give away all the "seo guru" secrets

Interesting view! +heads up for OP - great observed!

alghoritms updates are getting lame, and i completly agree with Moz stupid business

It really is amazingly ridiculous. One article went on & on about how keywords are "irrelevent" and "quick SEO" is now "history" and how Hummingbird "makes sense" now that so many searches are done by mobile and voice (huh? what does that have to do with any of this?? LOL) etc etc yada yada yada.

The article goes so far as to state that Hummingbird is not just a change to the google algo, but a REPLACEMENT!

But then, totally contradicting everything that came before in the propaganda piece - er, "article" - it says one SEO company "confirmed that their clients' search results have not changed since Hummingbird was rolled out."

WHAT?! So a "complete replacement" of the google algorithm results in ... no changes to search results. Give me a freakin' break. How stoopid does Matt Cutts think we are?

It appears alot of you don't quite get what "hummingbird" actually is.

It's not an update like penguin or panda. It's not something that will punish you for building bad links or doing anything blackhat. It's a way Google is taking more complex and more semantic search queries and presenting that information to the user from scraped results.

The guy above me; LOL. You mentioned "what does voice search have to do with this!?!?!?!?!?!?!". Quite a lot, actually. The average user will, if they use voice search, create a semantic sentence or question that requires more than just providing a page full of results. That person wants answers. So Google needs to work out exactly what they saying for a definite answer

...requires more than just providing a page full of results...

Mobile search dude: "Hey Google, is there any - like - pizza joints - like - around here?"

Google: <spits out a list of pizza joints near the mobile search dude>

Yeah, sounds revolutionary. LOL

Google (or any software) understanding human speech remains a dream.

For some reason I feel the algorthim is pretty much same, it is just Google that keeps suspioucious site on the radar and if you do something very wrong, you are out when the next update has been released.

mozwat???

the only place on Earth for serious SEO advice is BHW period.

The only time I discovered they existed is when they linked to my content with poison keyword. How the hell people discover them?

its like the thing with the widow spider, where the female eats the male after sex every time and this 'fact' went viral as phuck superfast. In reality the male just runs away 99% of the time(in NATURE). But the experiment was seen in confinement so no escape :D

Faith in animal males restored.
