Huge update in google?

I'm seeing many pages with very poor content in the ranking #1-#10
something strange is happening, some radical change

What I am seeing lately is a drastic change in some of my niches (adult)..... some results don't even got adult related sites anymore... and got a bunch of SPAM sites in top 20

Yup, me and some of my clients are seeing positive movements. A google update is for sure going on :)

My ranking went back to what it was before this google late feb/early march update

Not sure if it is coincidence or my going back and refreshing most of my PBN's and web 2.0 blogs.

interested if others have noticed any change in their ranking.

I am seeing traffic down from 17th of April 2018. Looks like another update.

Crappy and Spammy sites are ranking without content

What's going with Google robots?

Exactly, many new crappy sites (less than 6 month old) without human written content are ranking.

i really don't like how you guys call this sites "crappy sites". i am one of the person who has a lot of this sites. You guys don't know how much work it is to setup, code these sites and build a lot of links. Do you really think only because you have a huge article written you deserve to rank better? Also this forum is called BLACKHAT world ...

Site with just DUMMY CONTENT/ SPUN ARTICLES that has no VALUE are ranking?? What do you call it? Does it gonna help users? I know, may guys are using backlink strategy to rank well.

Yes, This site is Blackhat and has 'WhiteHat' section too.

From yesterday my main site no longer appears in google search. I don't have any penalties in google search console. What kind of penalty is this ? Another site of mine is now on first page, this site has poor content, maximum 30 words...google is very strange now and encourages sites without or little content

According to my KW tracker I have lost about 40% of my rankings over last 5 days. My primary money site is extremely high quality, 10 years old domain, etc... Great backlinks from reputable news outlets and real press that can't be faked. Sales are way down, made a separate post about it a few days ago trying to figure it out. Kind of a shame...

I lost 30% of the traffic and its going down, never built back link except promotion on FB and twitter. Majority of the pages are hand written, well research, with average 800+ words. Strange point is, new post are no more ranking on 1st page after 17th of April 2018. While other sites are ranking well which are purely auto generated content.

My experience is that traffic has reduced, but that user engagement metrics (bounce rate, exit rate, and time on page) have increased postively. I haven't had SERP losses for important keywords so the traffic that has disappeared is likely to be from search terms that are less relevant for the pages.

I would guess that Google trying to rank pages that give better user enagement for types of search term.

The search results are still poor. There are many irrelevant pages ranking in the top 10 for terms I would expect to see other better sites ranking for. But that might also be consistent with increased weight on user engagement - words on the page are less important than they were, and thus sites focussing on just good written content are demoted.

I'm thinking of designing landing pages that are focussed towards making the visitor act, rather than giving the visitor what he wants immediately. Competitor pages that seem to be doing very well all have a mixture of reasonably long content (700 to 1,000 words) and a call to action for a free product (whether it ends up being free or not). To get the "free" product, you have to click through to a lead gen page. In other words, there are extra steps for the visitor, but the user engagement metrics for the landing page are good.

not sure if this is coincidence or it actually helps to address the adverse effect of recent google update:
try to go back to your tier 1 sites and PBN's and add more relevant content. i did this for one of the sites and it helped it to get back its ranking. this was for the early march update.
