Something similar happened to me..

Just got hit with several chargebacks totalling $6000+ on Paypal.

I buy and sell Bitcoins on Localbitcoins & Paxful.

Have been doing it for awhile, first time I receive chargebacks.

I think it might have been same person with multiple stealth paypal accounts.

I lost the dispute. -$5500 now. Fck paypal. I aint paying em sht.
What country are you from, Frap?

How much did you earn out of this transaction? I remember I use to encounter a client online asking if I want to do business, same with you. He ask for my phone number and send me link or code as I remember to put on my paypal account as they payment gateway but glad it doesn't push through. Ingat kabayan!

paypal is big dirt i dropped from my options since i have been scammed .
that backfire at you but you have the chance to run .
good luck , but you should understand the lesson .

Video from 2016 but this seems to explain op's situation . Hard to feel bad for op when he is posting how he is trying to get the money back trying to start disputes with everyone else involved who was probably also scammed . Money isn't easy to get either . These guys probably spend months to find the perfect target such as op buy it definitely paid off for them .

Damn. That sucks so hard. I honestly don't even know what legal action you could take to claim you were a victim. Maybe consult a lawyer?

One of the oldest scams going, yet people still fall for it.
OP there is little you can do except report the incident to the authorities and state that you were scammed.
To be frank, this is pretty well hidden scam for people who have no idea how paypal works. I can imagine a lot of people fall into this scam

I badly need a serious advice. I owe PayPal $5900 because I was scammed by a Ukraine national. My situation went like this.

I am from the Philippines. I work as a Virtual Assistant. I saw this job posting on a legit online job portal and applied for it. The position was Virtual Financial Assistant. I got accepted. My job is to receive payments from my "employer" company's clients on my PayPal account, withdraw the money to my bank account and forward it to them via Western Union. I got my first transfer. It was a payment for a fake item they listed on eBay which costs $5900. Days after I forwarded the money to them, the buyer filed a dispute about not receiving the item. Because I don't have any proofs of shipment for the item he payed for, he got his full refund. Now I am the one having the debt on PayPal. I have contacted PayPal a lot of times already, sent them messages showing proof of my conversation with the scammer and receipt of the transfer but they told me they can't do anything for my case because the money has been withdrawed already. I also reported the eBay user on eBay. They filed a case and said they are going to investigate the user and see if he has violated any terms but the problem is they won't be able to give me updates on the case because of privacy reasons and even if they find suspicious actions on the user they still can't help me with my case because the transaction happened on PayPal. The eBay user has a 100% positive feedback, has past smooth transactions on his profile and is a member since 2011. I just wanted eBay to investigate the user and if found guilty have him pay the debt by locating his past PayPal account linked to his eBay account, but this seems impossible based on the reply I got from my past call. I have my personal information on my PayPal account, correct name and address. What will happen if I don't pay PayPal? I am not possibly paying for the money I don't have on-hand and I am not capable of paying this huge amount of money. I am also planning to close my bank account linked to my PayPal. I've read that if I don't pay my debt in 3 months, PayPal will pass my debt to a collection agency. I am from the Philippines. Will they still locate me? Will they take legal actions against me if I refuse to pay the debt even with the collection agency going after me? I badly need an advice. If there's anyone who can help I would be very grateful.
Hello che, i was also a victim by ukraine nationals same as you. I saw the work on onlinejobs.ph i had a negative balance of 4900 dollar. I dont know what to do this is my first time using paypal and put all my information also my bank account link. Please help.

Ouch... Yeah, I don't know how you can fix that. Plus, if you are a VA in the Philippines, that is a TON of money.

Man if I got payed 6k by some random ass guy I would scam them myself not get scammed #word

Damn, I usually don't feel bad for people that fall for stupid shit like you but this time I do. Screw your credit, don't let this panic you man. You just got hit hard with a really big stupid tax haha. Hmmm I just almost thought about sending you the money until I just realized that you almost made this perfect enough that it was a scam. Hahaha if so I give you props. If not sorry that you made it so good hah.

I had a friend who had a negative balance at paypal of -60$ and some cents . He left that account and didnt use it anymore because he couldnt close it . After 1 year and 2-3 months someone called him saying that he has negative balance to pay and if he doesnt comply he will be Sued .

So, good luck :) Paypal is good for receiving money and all paymens ( I have my pp account for 5-6 years or more ) but be carefull because they can fuck you up real good.

You hve read too many critics sir..hopefully everything will be okay. Keep working with western union and the police.

@thelemon. Well, that's good to have it here for future reference. I hope that whomever considers doing business with you will search for your name first so they can see that you would screw them in a New York minute if the money was right.

Personally, I believe in treating people the way I want to be treated. I'm 50 years old and so far it has worked well for me.

OP, I am sorry you got conned (that's a pretty old one too, loosely based on the Nigerian scam), you got to be careful online.

I don't know how things work in the Philippines but I am in the US and I would definitely file a police report to protect my own behind and I would also disconnect my personal bank account and card from Paypal so they cannot garnish it (Paypal has been known to take money out of people's bank accounts without permission).

I hope things work out for you.
