Huge e-mail list monetizing

Hi all,

First post here, so bear with me. I'll tell you what I've been doing. I first searched for and downloaded the LinkedIn database dump. It's the real thing and contains 164,611,595 e-mail addresses of Linkedin users at the time of the hack, being 2012.

So, I've started cleaning/verification... Using Atomic Verifier Online, SendPulse and Maxprog E-mail Verifier, thorough Lots of e-mails invalid, I expect to end up with 50-60% of starting number, which still is 80-100 million. Blood, sweat and $$ but a Nice result

I'm looking into ways to use this list myself, but wouldn't mind sharing (selling?) the end result. Would there be interest in such a list, and if so, where?
Secondly, what can you recommend for monetizing? I'm new.

Hey, don't mind me asking. How do you plan on bulk mailing like that and hitting inbox? Just asking because you say you're new, and that will be much harder to achieve than it will be finding a product to sell to them.

So, SES basically

Mailing that many people is going to be the real challenge; even with SES your going to need to split up the mailings between at thousand or so accounts. I wouldnt even use JUST ses since they will block those particular IP ranges pretty fast.

Likewise you will want a TON of diversity in your mailings. Lots of different links, Spinning in your messages, etc..

But to answer your actual question;

I wouldnt just mail everyone the same thing. I would drill down into that dump (Any data in it besides emails? Can you cross-match it with still-existing profiles and target via niche?)

If not, I would just find some really good thing on Linkedin Networking and sell that to them. You know they use Linkedin for business connections; so thats about as niche targeted as you can get.

Thats all in theory of course, since mailing non-opted in addresses would be considered email spam.

I was considering ways of "reviving" the dead list by letting them opt-in for my "real" list, but it seems a waste of time and money. Or is there experience in that area?

Hey guys, if he was to email this many people
1. How would he successfully get into inbox?
2. How will he be able to at least customize the emails sent[ like every 2M having different formats] ?
3. Other than making affliate sales and using link building[ or shortened urls whichever it is], how can he monetize his emails?
I'm also new. I've read a few articles around the web but still want to know as much as i can before i start going into anything.

A list like yours is extremely dangerous for any ESP

You should pay for some cleaning service

I do not know, about 10k, 15k

If the list is Linkedin, then it's worth it

How about uploading to FB ads and/or create a look alike audience? You know it is business oriented, sell business products.
