    Hello BHW,

i have a News website about gaming. 2 Months ago i had a few articles that got a great amount of traffic (in 1 day over 5.000 visitors) which was back then A LOT for me (since i was only making 300 - 500 a day) this kept going on for a while (it dropped to like 2.500 daily) and staid like that for 3 weeks and now its suddenly bellow 1000.
I have been writing original content every day (game reviews, game news etc.) i get about 3 - 4 comments each post, i do everything legally (no blackhat SEO), i have my website optimized for SEO (done by Yoast) and i have the same ranking on the keywords (Try typing in: Xbox 720 pictures in Google and look at the 1st or 2cnd link, depending where you life, thats my site ^^ out of over 80 million results found on that keyword ) same goes for typing in Red Dead Redemption 2 :p, the website loads fast, i have a lot of followers on the social networks my site is on (like Twitter, facebook and google +)

Anyone knows whats going on? I know i was definitely hit by the Panda update, but there seems to be absolutely no way to get the traffic back? I do have about 300 - 400 people a day that come back to read new articles, so traffic from google has actually dropped below the 500.

    Usefull site info:

    Pagerank: 1
Total links to my site (says Google webmaster tools) 10.000
    Indexed pages in google: 1.500
Website has been live for: 6 months

    Help me BHW, please! ;(

If you have the same rankings it means few people search for the terms you are ranking... and you are ranking for a product release term, it's normal for the searches to drop.

It is true that the keywords i am ranking for might not be searched as much as words like "Buy cheap car" etc. but they're still searched 50.000.000 times a month (source: Adwords keyword tool) it doesn't make sense. The keyword Xbox 720 is searched 5.000.000 a month, and im on page 3 for that one and on page 1 for almost any variation (such as Xbox 720 pics, Xbox 720 price, new Xbox 720 console etc.)

OK first, are you setting the Adwords to exact and not broad? It sounds like you are setting it to broad. Second, I manage and am part owner of a pretty big news site and I can tell you that you are going to see enormous fluctuations in traffic. A lot of time trending articles will get you globs of traffic, and when the story dies down, you are back to your standard days. Once the site starts to grow and has more authority, more and more of your articles will start to appear on the first page of Google. Just continue doing what you are doing and you will be fine. It takes time to grow the authority of a site.

Drop in search of those keywords or else your articles were good enough and people have read them already and are old now.

Do you monitor your rankings? You may jumped high temporary for some keywords.

I don't know your website for certain, or all of the articles you have, but with regards to Xbox 720 traffic numbers I think Google Trends for "xbox 720" explains a lot...as well as when the announcement of the console was (I don't know when this was but it looks like sometime between the end of January and beginning of March 2013).

I think this makes sense given the nature of your niche.

Keep your website updated with new content. I think that you need to also add products that are 'evergreen'. It seems that you are promoting products that are 'trending' and seasonal.

I also suggest you do split test. It can provide you with ideas on what to change in your site. That would also help.

    Ok. Thanks for the advice.
I am looking for product reviewers to review gaming products, maybe this will help ;)
