[HowTo] Optimize your network for Scrapebox

Just wanted to say thanks AGAIN! Switched to a VPS and has to set everything up again and this is a lifesaver of a resource.

I got a few things Im not sure about regarding the technical stuff. Anyone mind taking a look on my VPS on teamviewer and help me pick the right settings? Would appreciate it =)

I've updated the original post with two new sections. There are now settings for 'Windows XP/Server 2003' and 'Advanced Network Adapter Tweaks'.

Hy.

I have made the changes on my new VPS and for fast posting it works great but now I have really big problem with link checker and the link extractor, each time I run them my VPS start to run very slow.

On my old VPS without the changes those works great and with no problem and the new VPS is better so I can not see any other issue than the modification I made.

Is this possible or do you have any suggestion?

Thank you.

Hy.

I have my test and the changes are not the reason for the CPU overload in link extractor and link checker.

I run the link extractor on the same list and with the same website with and without the changes and the CPU usage graphic looks almost the same, so this does not affect the performance in any of this add-on's.

But my question and my problem still remain, why my VPS CPU overload when I try to check links or better say what can be done to solve this problem?

Thank you

in the maximum connection of 100. does that mean that i have to scale up all the connections per operation to 100? like to google harvester to 100 and yahoo too 100? or it's just the overall sum needs to be 100? the same applies to timeout? thanks :)

Maximum connections refers to the 'Fast Poster' connection setting. Setting Google/Yahoo harvesters to 100 is a good way to get your proxies banned fast XD

oh my. haha. so what do u recommend for the harvester? a max of 20? :D

oh yeah thanks. Before it was like 2 links post per second, now it's like 6 links.

I followed everything except for the network adapter buffer part. The max buffer from my Asus motherboard is 126 (cannot change to 512).

One more thing that I would like to add about this optimization, for some SB users this is not a secrete but for newbie may be helpful.

When using SB with proxy the proxy have a great impact on your performance.

No matter if you optimize your sb server to work with more connection this will not help if the proxy server on witch your proxy are hosted can not manage multiple connection.

So if before you make this optimization you blast with 50 connection and your proxy's can handle that now is possible so no matter if your server can work with more connection the proxy server may not accept as much connection as your server try to open, and if you go for a non AA+ list and the connection may take more time to be solved then you may see your SB start to crash.

So is important after this optimization to go progressive with rising the connection and a lot of test must be done to find the right balance.

can't i just have more proxies ?

I'm talking about private proxy here, and also about 100-200 connection so procure proxy to stay up can cost you a lot of money, and this can be a solution if the proxy server have a limitation true connection/ip and not a resource problem or task limitation. The idea is that the proxy server will not execute more than xx task at once...

But as I said this is not necessary to happen, if your proxy provider is ok then you should not have a problem....

I am too cheap using scrapebox fast proxies about 20 of them.

List status 60000/260000 450mins. Must be something wrong.

Is that an AA list?
Secondly your results are pretty good when it comes to speed. Your posting at 500+ URLs(Failed or posted) per minute.

Outside of the optimization tweaks, other factors can come into play regarding performance. Your proxies, bandwidth, router (especially if using a home grade router), etc all come into play. Additionally, AA lists will always post slower (sometimes 3x/4x slower) than a freshly harvested list.
