Hows your Experience with Godaddy Hosting? - Mine- Very Bad

Hello,

I have been using godaddy hosting from Feb 2017.
When I started my fitness site, it has low amount of traffic and hosting was Good.

Then I started getting 120+ visits a Day and Godaddy hosting shows "502" Time out error most of the time.

They send me mails, "Resources use exceeded"

Is it a joke, that the hosting can't even handle 120 visits per day?

I have been losing targeted organic traffic that could gave me sales.

Thinking of shifting to a new hosting provider. Any suggestions?

Get the fuck out of them. They are the worst you can deal with in this area. Their hosting is complete shit as you've experienced and completely overpriced for the shit you get. They are actually incredibly expensive in every area. I now try to move my domains away from them as fast as I can since they wanted something like 34€ (including VAT) to extend one .com domain including privacy. I knew they weren't cheap but 34€ for a com with whois protection?

I'd actually recommend you to get a server at a hoster like OVH. Never had problems with them so far.
 
Avoid EIG hosting, check the marketplace here for sellers.

Depends on your budget too, another option is self hosting on a server.
 
I believe they started offering hosting just to make use of all the traffic and customers than buy domains there

Well yeah obviously. You would be daft not to take advantage of all of that traffic.

And yeah they are expensive in almost every way these days. All of that super bowl advertising money has to come from somewhere.
 
It was about 10 years ago, last time I used Godaddy hosting. Those days they had good uptime and their shared accounts were strong enough to handle pretty big sites. I used their shared hosting for 3 years till they asked me to upgrade to a vps or move somewhere else.

Are you looking for shared hosting account or a VPS ? also what's your budget ?

Anyway this " Resources use exceeded " might not related to visitors but to some sort of rough plugin or script in your website.

I am using simple plugin that everyone use on their site.

I am thinking of trying "Wpengine". Let's see.
 
Godaddy is terrible. I've switched over to siteground for hosting - they're pretty good.
 
It depends on your budget. If you expect stellar performance from $1.99 hosting you will undoubtedly be disappointed. If you need managed hosting, try tmd... If you can work with unmanaged server, ovh is my go to and upclouds too.
 
I'd go Digital Ocean. For $5 a month, it's fast and you get a dedicated IP per droplet. It takes a little bit of know how to setup WP but there's a wealth of info on Youtube.

Am using the gigabit Linux hosting, It is the better one in my place.
 
I've used them in the past, actually, contrary, 3 years ago, their hosting wasn't that bad actually. I've hosted over 20 sites on their server, and it could take a beating, and then they start to rationalize, putting limit to your hosting (unlimited become limited in a way), and every now and then you'd receive an email stating that you've overused your resources, etc.
I went and get a VPS from them, not bad either, and used them for 1year+. You have full access to the VPS allocated RAM, and all cores (regardless), and by that time, things start to get really busy, as my 40+ sites were hitting their cores 10 to 16 cores altogether (sometimes up to 32 overload), and no warning was sent to me.
But the price was just a little too high, so I went and get a cheap budget dedicated server, and install WHM/cpanel myself, and has been with that ever since. Worth every penny on the budget dedicated!
 
wow i thought godaddy is good hosting provider but it looks here that experienced members on this forum suggest otherwise . i have never really used godaddy for hosting but i buy lots of domains from them at cheap price approx 3$/domain for a year .i have created some low traffic web apps on digital ocean and they are good .
 
No good - their servers do crash and they removed the chat support which is a pain
