How would you monetize a site like this?

I have a web site that offers free computer repair advice. It gets 1800 or so visitors per month, has 36 indexed pages, all original content and over 600 words on each page. The home page PR is 5, and the internal pages drift up ti PR 4 usually. Even my privacy page is PR4.

This site makes about $75 per month in adsense.

I used to play around with my "web site hobby" as my wife calls it, just learning and having fun. Figured I'd learn enough to someday supplement my retirement, and keep me busy. Ended up with 20 domain names and 6 web sites. The free computer repair site is the one I am seeking advice about.

Here is the deal. My wife had a massive heart attack, the economy took my job and insurance, medicine is $1200 a month, and I need to start to really make money with my "web site hobby". i have plenty of time and skills, I just need direction.

I am learning more and pursuing other revenue streams, but it seems a shame not to try to monetize this traffic, it is mostly organic traffic, and it gradually increases over time, and it is hands off income, but the site is about Windows XP, so it is dated and loosing ground each year.

What are my options? How do you monetize a free site? The site is on the first page of google for many keywords and number 1 for quite a few, including "free computer repair advice", at least as of this morning.

Any help and advice will be appreciated very much.

The technology niche is notoriously hard to monetize. With the PR of the home page and inner pages you could sell links but that would be risky on a site where you have invested so much and could put your adsense in jeopardy. Also 1800 visitors a month is not a whole lot. If you are getting $75 from that you are doing well in the tech niche. You can try out some different monetization methods, CPA would work well in your niche since there are a ton of free laptop offers. You can always keep targeting more keywords and trying to rank for them to scale up with this site but it will take time. The more traffic you get the more money it will make.

I'm assuming you know about computer repair since this sounds like a hobby site. You might want to check out this thread as a means of getting some faster money from your hobby.

Try some anti-virus or registry cleaner CPAs.

Find people who will advertise on your site.
If your PR is high you can sell links on it but I don't know if you will win much

Improve your site and add more content. This way you should earn more. $75 for 1800 is pretty well for these ads... add more

sorry to hear of her situation. I would add more internal pages; rank those internal pages hence increasing your adsense. Not much else you could do imo..
