How to use comments to get follow backs?

Along with following people, I started commenting on their posts too and it was getting good results but Instagram gave me a spam warning because I was using terms like “if you follow me back that would be awesome”.

What kind of comments do you make that gets follow backs but doesn’t get warnings?

Comments asking for follow backs are spammy and doesnt look good, what kind of comments will get you follow backs depends on what your account niche is and what type of posts you comment on
 
gotta post engaging unique comments, very easy to gain followers from commenting. You should comment highly engaging comments on large Instagram pages, if you want to get followers from comments.

The route you are going isn't realistic for growth in 2024. Try a form of mother/child going in 2024.
 
use unique comment bro. same comment will give you warning and ban you
 
Using the same comment, especially your kind of comment, which demands followers every time, puts your account at risk of being suspected.
 
Use comments on other people's posts that add value and show genuine interest in their content. This will increase the chances of them following you back.
 
Help them with your knowledge rather asking follow back. It's safe, honest and authentic.
 
Instagram may detect comments such as ”if you follow me back that would be awesome" as spam and restrict your account. Try writing different things for interaction.

In my personal opinion, No you can't get followers through comments. If you comment so then you'll get spammed. Instagram won't allow you to do such comments continuously.

You can use stickers or gifs to get the followers or try with different words.
 
None in specific, you simply have to make varied comments and not so much, Instagram has limits, try to do it by scales, in the morning 30 follow and 5 comments, in the afternoon the same, at night and so on, not all at once because they will give you spam warning.

Instead of focusing on how you can gain followers, focus on how you can provide value to your audience - how can you give whats important to them, instead of taking whats important to you? Leave comments which will entertain users, educate them, or otherwise enhance their experience on the platform. Become a valuable and attractive account, and the followers will come.

Side note, this takes a bit of trial and error and I recommend trying this with burner accounts first, but commenting on popular pages and using smm panels to buy comment likes (essentially, ranking your comments) can be very effective.
