How to sleep forcefully?

Don't watch TV or have a computer on to go to sleep. Reading works really well too. ;)

In all honesty, I've tried a lot of things to help me sleep better and here is what has helped:

1 - After eating dinner, don't eat or drink anything. I think the body has less... reactions (burps, spits, etc) if nothing is in your digestive system.

2 - Use the toilet before going to bed to avoid waking up at night

3 - Clear your mind. Try not to think about what you have to do the next day. Sometimes listening to music helps or listening to random static noise like on a radio or something

4 - Don't count sheep

5 - Make sure the room is not too cold and not too warm. Having a fan on low may help for the extra "relaxing" sound it makes and the small breeze

6 - If its around 65-70F outside, turn off your air conditioner or close your vent. Open your window and place your fan directly on the screen (you may need a table under your window and some sort of support so it doesn't fall, be creative). It feels nice to have fresh air inside your room :)

7 - When you go to bed, make sure you actually feel sleepy. Don't force yourself although I know you want to cause of the thread title. If you aren't sleepy, do something like work on something till you do.

Well, thats all the advice I can give you. I can say it helps me out.

just stay relax and don't think about what you're going to do the next day, it should help

Ok, I'm not drunk right now, therefore more serious avice. Get some excercise on fresh air, or just do some hard manual work, you get physically tired and will sleep like a baby.

Just go for Gym or walking a little more distance will get u strain and that lead to good sleep. In ayurvedic there is kitchen item which i don't know in English but in telugu (Gasalu). You must heat in Pan until they turn to light brownish colour then smell the flavor. It is good for health no side effects. I work in night shifts and have to sleep morning.

This Idea Worked For Me

:D

Thanks

why do you want to sleep forcefully.

if you dont get sleep take a sleeping pill thats it you will feel as if you are in heaven.

lol just kidding.

The secret is to wake yourself up early in the morning. If you're waking at 2PM every day, put your alarm on for 10AM and WAKE UP.

You will feel like shit, probably tired and not much energy to do a whole lot. You should find that going to bed that night MIGHT be a little easier (but you still may want to go to bed at your usual time).

REPEAT again the next morning, wake up at 10AM forcefully. Again, you WON'T want to... but DO IT.

Keep on doing that, and soon you will start wanting to fall asleep either a little earlier, or perhaps the same time as normal - but waking up at 10AM won't become hard anymore.

Just make sure you don't "give in" and let yourself sleep in till 2PM until you have been waking up at 10AM for a while, because you'll get back into the bad habit and have to try and break it again.

get up at 6AM and stay up all day. By 9PM you will pass out and be on a new and improved schedule.

EDIT: sorry krzysiekz hit the nail on the head.

Any idea on How to sleep forcefully?
I have a bad habit of not to sleep whole night and then suffer from office timings as i wake up 2 PM afternoon. :saeek:
The best thing you can do is to break that habit and resume sleeping at night at the right number of hours.

If that's a habit now, it might be hard to break. But keep trying until you can resume your regular sleeping at night.

Forced sleeping is not good, you're not a machine...you're human and you need recharging and that can only be achieve through proper sleeping.

Join a gym, workout hard, get some melatonin supplement and use it for few days
