Insight and copywrighting is the key to make a succes campaign in fb ads..but to get the the best insight and copyright you need to create some campaign (at less 2) as split test.

As silly as this sounds, I study the National Enquire's ad copy for insporation when using ads..there images and headlines have high ctr..thats why there there. and have been there for a very long time. On Facebook, it is very, very important to not have the link lead directly to the Affiliate offer. What you want to do is, have a blog, or thoroughly written article that provides boats loads of value, and through out that content you have your affiliate links in the context. That is your safest bet by a long shot when it comes to promoting any type of affiliate offer on Facebook. Also consider native advertising so your ad blends right in with your follower's timeline...study the people who create those t shirt ads (the ones with your last name on them, or your birthday...) ..Very very effective..just keep in mind thats where there attention is and they are more likely to click it
