How to Rank 1ST ??

Hey guys.

I have a fews things i didnt understand in SEO. ( i'm like 5 months in now.)

I wrote a blog post, better quality and more content than people on the 1st page, but this is staying at rank 14 since 1 month, this dont goes up. Should i try to write more content better quality, or build a lot of backlinks to this page ? Or Build backlings to my homepage to help my overall website power to increase ?

2) Lets say i have a shop of honey. How to rank for the term " honey " on my homepage ? Because there is a lot of competition, so my collection can rank for " flower honey " but my homepage doesnt even appear in top 100 of "honey". Should i build a lot of backlinks with "honey" tag ?

I'm a bit lost on this point , if you could give me some clear tips it would be cool , thanks a lot !

Its a very long term process mate. You have to build the authority to rank on the 1st page. Since it is a new site you can rank now for log tail and low comp keywords now. make it professional site like page 1 sites and you will start gaining rank.
Just stay professional and keep posting regularly, you will see growth in a few months.
Don't go for too much spammy SEO work or you will get penalized.

There’re multiple factors here, but if keywords is easy then backlinks can help

1. Buy some high quality backlinks (use different anchors) and you should easily move to first page if you're 14 at the moment
2. Yeah, but only use your exact match anchor about 1-5% (also depends if you're using EMD and so on).

high rankings rarely happen by chance. Even the most skilled and knowledgeable marketers struggle with getting the top-ranking spot.

And, when you speak about Long Tail Keyword. Should i go for a special article blog on LT keyword volume ~ 100,

or add the longtail keyword in a article on the main keyword ?

Different articles with long tail keywords should help for main keyword.

You may have lots of articles like "XX honey" , "YY honey XX", "Honey ZZ" then all your website will be about honey and its variations. Do not use "honey" too much in your articles to reach enough number of "XX Honey" keyword.

Backlinks should not be only for honey and only for homepage.

You must focus on long-tail first, It will bring traffic to the site and help to rank your main keyword.

Try to focus on the unique quality of content and longtail keyword and improve the link build structure.

you article need more time to get rangked first.
Try to build backlink it will help to make it faster

Let's say that if your website is a shop of honey you actually won't be ever in the first place. Because that's is an informational search request. And your shop page will be less relevant than the article about honey of definition. For example an article from Wikipedia.
Or there is a super authoritative company with such name https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honey_(company). Search Engine can't say exactly what the user means by this keyword. So it will diverse the first page with different types of content. And commercial content almost always will be not the first option.

You can create a blog, where will be the best informational article about honey there ever will be. This article will have more chances to be ranked higher.

But if there is a commercial request "buy honey" or "honey shop". The first page definitely will contain mostly shops or pages from huge aggregators.

Link Building.

Your domain is like your name. Stephen Hawking or Neil DeGrasse Tyson are bigger names and authorities in Physics that my uncle Scott.
But why? Because Stephen Hawking and Neil DeGrasse Tyson have researches and publications (let's call it content) or were mentioned in different researches and publications. These publications were cited by a huge number of important and authoritative other scientists and organizations that were referenced (let's call it backlinks) by other researchers and people. Actually my uncle Scott maybe

So using this analogy.

If you domain = name.
Then every document = publication or category of publications.

Stephen Hawking publication are not equally authoritative and quoted. Also, his publications in physics are definitely more trustworthy than publications about cooking.

So the answer you need to create backlinks to the document but also general all backlinks are reflected in domain authority.
Domain affects all your publications. Elon Musk can post any bullshit about rocket science, but his name will make this piece of content more trustworthy. At least until he ruins his reputation.

Since your website is new, you should focus more on long tail keyword. Research keyword based on searcher intent and your content.

You should post valuable content for user and keep the site active. Build links from trusted site and increase your site credibility and brand awareness. Interlink relevant article and maintain good site speed. It will take solid time but make sure user engaged with your site.

It’s difficult to push a new site to number one, especially if you want to do it quickly. Search engines have wizened up and will penalize excessive attempts to rank up.
That means that if you push aggressively with keyword stuffing and SEO over-tuning, you will only sabotage yourself in the long run. You should play the long game instead.

It requires more effort for the new site, Focus on quality content, make articles with low competition, long-tail keywords. Build the quality backlinks consistently from the related sites.

It's good to hear that you wrote a blog post, that's the good practice to rank your website higher on Google search engine results page. Why because content is always kind and a game player.
