How to Quit Smoking???

I was a heavy smoker not some wussy pack a day poser.

So I honestly believe that if I can quit, anyone who really wants to can quit too.

Personally, I was flat broke back then so I put it in perspective of how much money I was going to save and what I was going to do with it.

When I made the decision to quit, I told everyone I was quitting and not to let me borrow a smoke. Since I knew no one was going to offer, I never asked.

And because I calculated how much money I was saving, I could see that only a fool would go to the store and buy a pack for just one quick smoke break I'd regret later.

Long story short, I saved enough money to buy an RV (and you can too).

I totally agree with socialmediaking: The real key at the end of the day, is wanting to quit. If you do not really want to quit, deep down, then you never will.

I smoked for 1 1/2 years, I just did it cold turkey. Looks like a lot of the other members did that as well. But I still crave, I am actually craving now. But I have not smoked a pac in 2 months. I have smoke one or two here and there, just to see if it is something that I need/want.

Champix? I thought it was Chantix, I could be wrong. But either way that shit works. My father in law took a sheet and it cut him down. But others it has helped. There is some places that will hook you up with the nicotine patches, so you can look around for that.

i really don't know, i don't smoke, the most logical thing i can think of: keep all your tobacco under water :D that should help

Next to Diablo II, smoking was the most addictive activity I ever did.

Sometimes I still feel like smoking.

The real solution is awareness. You know or you can tell when you are craving.

What I do is quickly think of something to do and after 5 minutes I forget I wanted to smoke.

I quit cold turkey after a couple of years of smoking. I must say that I was into it more for the ancillary benefits of smoking, like being able to take a 15 minute break whenever I wanted and sit outside, and being able to smoke and talk to girls at the club. I did however at one point really enjoy handrolling and smoking them beyond all that.

At that point in my life, I decided to work out and to eat healthier and smoking was just antithetical to those goals. It didn't make sense to go for a run and to the gym and then later that night have a cigarette. It didn't make sense at all in my head and so my quitting had to do with trying to eliminate the cognitive dissonance I was experiencing .After I came to terms with that, I no longer wanted to smoke or had the desire to, and so I no longer do.

If it is the smoking part you like, ween off of it by switching to herb, e-cig, or hookah. Anything to separate the cig from you. Then I would ween off of those things eventually too.

The real key at the end of the day, is wanting to quit. If you do not really want to quit, deep down, then you never will.

Great advice here that I can relate to!

My brother went to a hypnotist and it worked. It only cost him $30.00, you could check if there are any in your area. That's less than one carton of cigarettes.

The best way and the way that worked for me (I smoked the whole pack/day for 15 years): Cold turkey and go jogging everyday, sweat it up and detox your body from all the toxins.

Yes, try a hypnotist. It might take several visits depending on how suggestible you are, but it should work.

- I started smoking to quit chewing tobacco or dipping- I used to love Copenhagen-

- I tried everything to stop dipping. I started smoking to quit dipping- and i hate cigarettes

- to quit smoking i got really sick one day, and could barely breathe while taking a drag. I thought, since i'm sick and miserable its sure a good time to go thru the nicotine withdrawals. It worked, and i quit smoking on 9-11 ten years ago-

good luck

Allen Carr's Easy Way To Stop Smoking... Basically you read this awesome book, quit cold turkey and never smoke again. It worked for me and a ton of other people I know and it really is easy! I used to smoke a pack a day but now smoking grosses me the fuck out.

You can probably download a torrent but I would recommend just buying a hard copy at your local book store... It's a lot cheaper than smoking!
