How To Out Black Hat A Black Hatter??? :)

this is based on experience.

try to buy off some of the older blogs or websites that are ranking in the top 20 of that keyword to have your text link in their homepage. You can pay as low as $10 for that if the webmaster is a kid or don't know anything about SEO.

If you successfully got 2 links out of the top 20 sites in the SERP's for your targeted keyword. Expect a nudge in the rankings

In my opinion fighting for number one spot when there are other blackhatters involved is like trying to be a heavyweight fighter. You might beat everyone else, but only for so long, until someone comes and knocks you down.

The money must be REALLY good for you to fight so hard, and remember any victory is fleeting, think about it, the net is changing, google can knock you down, etc. I would find another niche personally, but let me know how it goes, i like to learn from watching others. Thanks.

Once again, thanks to all who commented.

As stated, they are not HUGE money keywords but I want to get there for my own selfish reasons :) im not stupid enough (keyword "enough", but stupid most likely) to go throwing all my eggs in one basket and break the bank trying to chase these guys down but am willing to try a few things and give it a good crack before i go chucking in the towel...

Ive gathered some useful information here so far and will put a some of it to use and get back to you guys on where it takes me.

Hit yas back soon.

I can definetly agree with that bro.

If its a small part of your plan why not try right? Its funny how hard it is to actually judge because most of the time we only see a small part in the forum and then try to make bigger assumptions based on these little comments.

But anyway I would defo want to know how it goes with you. As I said, I try to stay out of the more competitive stuff but mainly I don't have the time or money to waste but if I was already earning well, then why not try to attack some tougher niches.

Peace.

This is what works for me, but as mentioned above rankings will be fleeting when dealing with that type of competition. So you'll need to put in more effort to maintain your ranking. What is your budget to throw at this?

What I do is a coordinated and sustained strike designed to make Google think "something big" or newsworthy is going on with the site. It gives a nice, but temporary jump in rankings (e.g., after some time if you don't keep up the hype Google won't think anything newsworthy is going on anymore).

I come up with a plan for each of these and then execute them simultaneously (not one after the other, but a bit of each every day or every 2-3 days, over the course of a few weeks).

The first part is a series of PRs. I always stick videos in them, so I'll do those first, but I don't think it matters. What matters is that you use a good PR service that will get you good distribution for the backlinks. You can go the PRWeb route which will cost you, or find a cheaper alternative. There's a few I like that run $20-25 per release. You'll need to do 3 or 4. I space them out and drop them every 2-3 days. Once they show up on newspaper and TV station sites, backlink and bookmark those pages.

I'll also have a bunch of videos prepared and ready to drop. I'll also drop these every 2-3 days, and use some tools like Vagex to start throwing views etc. at them. I backlink these videos too and try to trigger universal search if it isn't already showing vids on the 1st SERP.

In conjunction with the above I run a social bookmarking campaign. You can use your own tools or find providers on Fiverr or in the BST section here. I usually find a couple of different providers and run them all at the same time. They won't all do their gigs at the same time, so you get a nice stream over the course of a week or so. Then I'll do it again.

In addition to all of the above, I used to use a guy who could do "Twitter bombs" and push out tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of tweets across a bunch of accounts, just a sustained repeated Tweeting (but spaced out). It would generate a massive realtime link pyramid to the target. He stopped awhile ago around when Google lost their Twitter API link and I haven't found a replacement yet. This used to be the ultimate secret weapon for me, because Google would go nuts over all the links and it generated a ton of link juice. I think it was a loophole in the way Google treated Twitter links and realtime search. I used this to great effect earlier this year. Unfortunately I tried to buy from the guy again a couple times and he just didn't respond.

The idea is to make it look like your site is trending socially. It has worked for me with several different sites.

While the above is providing covering fire I'll slide in some good EDU & GOV backlinks from a good provider.

As an anecdote, I remember the last time I did the above I had a good laugh because I was able to get Bing to treat my news as a bigger story than one of Lady Gaga's PR pieces for an entire weekend. It was worth a chuckle at the time :-)

Hi, after much consideration of the above posts, i tried a couple of the services
from the BHW services section (if you're a noob, you can find here)
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/f43-buy-sell-services/

My mission, to go and get some high pr authority backlinks.

I came across a service by member - secondeye (view profile here)
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/members/15909-secondeye.html

Who had services selling PR5-PR7 profile backlinks with follow-up pinging
and bookmarking, so I thought id give them a crack.

Purchase "Pack #1" initially (which I thought was a good omen) and here are the results (remember, all keywords were page one within a niche that has 2-3 blackhat guys sitting on top) courtesy of SEScout.com

Here is a breakdown of the stats:
Up 0 Ranks - Still sitting at number #4 (keyword not targeted)
Up 1 Ranks - Now sitting at number #2
Up 2 Ranks - Now sitting at #2
Up 5 Ranks - Now sitting at #1
Up 5 Ranks - Now Sitting at #2
Up 5 Ranks - Now sitting at #1
Up 7 Ranks - Now sitting at #3

Now remember, I have been through EVERYTHING from SENuke to Scrapebox to Xrumer to stock standard article marketing and so on, purchased thousands of links and absolutely nothing has given me the results that this tiny little 100 link package (plus 5 .edu backlinks) has given me. Also, the report I got was incredible, super detailed and organized, which was a bit of a shock :)

Next I am heading on to a higher package through secondeye (pack 5) just to solidify results and make sure I hold spots for a while, and have also purchased a package from xbox360gurl70s as there we're a lot of positive reviews based around her services so ill update you once I get the report.

Hope this helps,

Cheerio

You could have just used Scrapebox to check page rank of your linkslist and then save the pr5+ domains and do that yourself!

Or, i have more important things to do and id rather outsource it. PS dont have SB.

Well, you asked for help and sugestions and while that is correct about time, whats more important than being no.1? It takes less time to set Scr

All you do is buy scrapebox and set it to run and gather all the high pr sites and depending on your list size, you will have a much bigger set of high pr sites than any of the service providers and you can use and reuse the list anytime straight away and not wait a week to make an order and get a report from a provider. Service providers generally have a limited amount of domains so if you keep placing orders you will keep getting thesame domains!

It's not just about backlinks. even high pr backlinks.

Optimize your on page SEO and optimize your content.

I've actually been thinking more and more about this. I had assumed that I'd done everything right with my onpage seo etc...but now I'm beginning to wonder. A guy on the SENUKE forums suggested to add a youtube video to my pages and also make them longer, like even maybe 1000 words. Is that good advice?

Or...what have you guys tested that has turned out to make for the best on page seo?

I just read a boatload of good reviews from MR. E's service. I was thinking about getting it myself.

Work on your internal linking, good linking between pages is powerful if done correctly.
Use firebug (firefox add-on)to get all the info from your competitors as to how they have set up their website. If their sites are done correctly the keywords, etc will be visible in the header html, you might be missing a keyword or 2.Study the internal linking within their sites.
