I'm writing this just to let you know how I finally got around to building a massive 200+ exired tumblr PBN and actually make it so your accounts are not 404 by tumblr. I have probably lost over 300 tumblrs to 404 but after 3 months and no 404 i think I found the secret sauce and it defiantly reflects in SERPS.
What you need.
200 expired tumblrs per niche you are targeting. The more the better but 200 is a good start. There is a gig here for 25, MOZ PA 30+Tubmlrs for five dollars . So really only need to cost you $40 dollars for this step.
1 Scoop.it pro account. With this you can have 5 curated topics.
20 google PVA Emails
How to:
This might be a little complex but I promise the results are amazing.
1. Take all 200 tumblrs and batch them with Ahrefs. Sort them based on A) DA of that subdomain. B) social signals if any. You will notice about 20% will have either social signals or DA. That is fine.
2. Register as primary blog to the 20 google PVA's the top 20 accounts ranked by Ahrefs.....after that then don't worry so much about PA or link factors and just add 9 additional sub accounts to each primary account. This will result in all 200 tumblrs being resitered.
3. Make sure to
A. Add a unique Description to Every tumblr...don't worry so much about content
B. Add Favicon and background.
C. THE SECRET SAUCE - Add a picture post that is similar to one of these. Make sure each of the 200 tumblrs have unique pic.
4. Backlink the pics to any url you are trying to promote for some extra mini juice to begin.
5. You have to know that the minute a tumblr account expires that all internal links to that account are eliminated from tumblr. These internal links are what originally got the PA to were it is (90% of time). So you must regain these internal links? ANSWER: Reblogs from other real accounts. HOW?? https://www.fiverr.com/janelleski/reblog-6-posts-to-78k has worked great for me. over 50 reblogs on average per blog. Cost is (200/6)*5= $167 USD.
6. Once you (or in my case my VA) finishes that you need to link your tumblrs and scoop.it Here is how it is done. Add 10 of the PVA's (remember each PVA has 10 blogs total) to the main overall scoop.it account.
7. Then add 2 PVA's (20 blogs) that are only specific for that currated scoop.it. So total 5 scoops, that have 100 blogs already as main blogs and then each scoop has 20 additional blogs. This means everytime you scoop a URL you will receive a total of 120 tumblr backlinks...20 from the niche specific...and 100 from general.
8. To mask footprint of the 100 general blogs (Since I am like scooping 10 times + a day) you want to use DLV.RT, This will take any RSS feed and post to any tumblrs. Here is were you can get creative....For example one thing i do is add the RSS feed from some of my pintrest accounts and run some ninja pinner repins and there you go...automated collection of pins...then autosyndication to tumblrs to mask footprint.
