Hello!

A well known fact, original high-quality content is mandatory for a website. The "high-quality" in terms of content almost always means a text written for people and interesting excellent quality photos. If I need to evaluate any news sites or blogs, I will probably do it guided by such parameters. Of course, website design and page loading speeds are not less important.

But there are not just blogs and news sites on the Internet. There are quite a large number of websites that offer users simplify some calculations, generate passwords or download music. I mean the sites as a "generator", "converter", "beautifier", "downloader" and others. They have a tons of traffic and useful with no doubt.

Using this sites is not about the quality of a text or a pictures. You probably will add this site to your bookmarks if it's primarily "just do" a function, i.e. does what you need.

But what about SEO for this site?

Google's "Steps to a Google-friendly site", "SEO Starter Guide", "Webmaster Guidelines" do not clarify the rules regarding such sites also make no specific recommendations for their promotion.

How to do SEO for such websites? Does anyone have experience in promoting such websites?

Cheers!

Did someone deal with such projects? I will be grateful for any information. Thanks!

Just a heads up, your OP reads like a sales page rather than a question. You'll likely get more responses by removing all the unnecessary filler content and getting straight to the meat of your question. It'll also be helpful if you can explain what broad niche you're in (finance, downloads, etc), and what steps you've already tried.

The title looks like spun to me :D

Edit: I read your post a few times, probably lots of links to rank those type of sites. Some have inner pages too which are used for intern linking to the homepage where normally the tool is placed.

Couldn't make out anything from your post OP, just a load of jumbled up horseshit

Got it, I'll try to get straight to the point next time.

Guys, there are no special methods to rank "tool" website according to the answers.
I will try to do a basic routines to rank as for a usual website and than some niche-specific tweaks.

Hello there!

I recommend you write a how to page about how your tool/service works, this can be considered content. Maybe write an article about how your tool fixes a certain problem, so that when people do a search with "How to fix [The Problem You Solve]" they will land on your how to page.

Then simply link from your content to the page where you tool/service is at. This will bring in traffic.

Content will always be king, and it is the best way to get noticed. If you don't have at least 5 pieces of written content about your tool/service, the problems it fixes, etc. then it will be hard to get noticed without somebody directly linking to your tool/service.

4 Core Articles/Content Item Ideas:

  • How To Use Your Tool/Service
  • Problem that Your Tool/Services Solves
  • Write defining Articles that relate to your Tool/Service (ie. Instagram bot..Write an article defining Instagram, maybe the origins of Instagram. This gives your site some authority)
  • FAQ

Good Luck Sir!

///// Edit:

Check out www.bitly.com as an example (somewhat simple url shortening service), they don't have a ton of content but they have a strong "About" page and a simple blog.

(Obviously they are well known and people type in the URL directly, but it doesn't hurt to follow the tactics of the successful.)

I'd say the ranking of those websites depends on the external links and tags. Without content, there really isn't much to optimize, so, those sites probably have to build extensive backlinks.
