How to make a 4G proxy?

Im buying them locally as low as $10/dongle. Don't go online, look around locally.
WOW WOW. man you are the man if you are getting them for 10 USD.
im gonna join the facebook groups and other things, maybe I can find one or two for 10-20 USD too.

I guess local facebook groups, and used stuff selling like wish and ebay?

do you think those 4G lte usb modems from aliexpress can be setup to work for proxies or does it have to be Huawei?
between 15-25 USD is the price of them

Nop, unless you know how to flash them, haven't tried it, dunno if it works or not. but by the default software they comes in - they are pretty useless. at least I did not found a way to easy adapt them. not that I tried very much tho as I have plenty of those modems supplied locally

makes sense.
Its just that locally for me, they are not easy to find, and most importantly people expect 40 USD for it

Was looking them up on alibaba, if you buy 10, you get them for 25 USD + shipping. but then again if I have to pay Taxes on that it comes up to 35 USD...

but I will broaden my research and hopefully find a couple cheap ones.
Thanks for the info

Buy two locally and see if you will manage with the rest of the setup before building those castles in clouds with 10 or more devices ;)

I agree, a lot ahead to learn to worry about saving a dollar or two.

well, no, that's not what I meant by that. When I started I was so broke that I asked for those devices around my friends and local city facebook groups to see if anyone could sell them for a few euros. And sure did there were people ready to support my experiments. You can do the same, ask your friends, you need 2 or 3 of them to get going.

is there a specific reason that you only use huawei routers?
are they the best, or do other ones not work for this setup?

Do ZTE 4G routers work also?

example:

ZTE MF920V

ZTE MF927U

sry if its a stupid question

PS: Also I have a couple of huawei p20 lite phones, would it be possible to set them up for proxies, with the link you provided (the script)

- They are extremely easy to use.
- they have web UI which can be then automated by sending HTTP requests.
- They are stable and good.

Sorry, I haven't tried those devices so I cant give you a good answer.

Same, here, haven't tried p20 but I think they should work, yes.

I thought all devices can be automated by HTTP requests, now I know

got: p9 lite, p20 lite, p9, p10

one question regarding the script for 4G proxies with smartphones,
can the phones be setup to work automated with HTTP requests like with huawei dongles?
because its useless if I cant change the IP on them without manually putting it on airplane ON and OFF

They can if you make HTTP server that converts HTTP requests to signals that the device understands.

Yes, the link I provided has a solution to automate that. You would need to learn javascript and node.js basics to easily get around.

nah, that requires me to pay every month for the application to do its job (could literally buy proxies, it would almost be cheaper). It adds up quickly if you have multiple ones, like 5+ or more
and these apps usually come with a MASSIVE price too

but thank you for the suggestion, when I first heard about this a week ago I thought it would be amazing since I still have a couple old smartphones a previous project, but then saw the prices they ask and I was like: nope, nope, nope :D
What services did you consider? There are usually discounts for bulk customers.

dont remember the exact name of it, but I remember the price was absurd IMO. I think it was like 10-15 USD per phone per MONTH. I can just add another 10 USD and buy a proxy :D

What prices would you consider fair?

Imo it should be a bigger one time payment (15 USD) and after that 1 USD per phone per month

reason behind: they developed the app, but you are still paying for your 4G provider and your phone. you just need their app, that they invested a lot of time and money to develop but now its basically running with almost no cost in maintanance. (obviously this is just my opinion, and hopefully I didnt offend or disrespect someone)

If im wrong in thinking they have very low maintanance, would appreciate someone explaining why I am wrong :D

You're not wrong. A fair price is $0. I have a free and open-source app coming soon :)

At first glance, it seems that everything is simple. But servers cost money, the work of Android programmers, backend, frontend, support and much more.

But it is definitely more profitable than buying ready-made mobile proxies. But it's up to everyone to choose what to use.

wait, iproxy.online costs 6-10 USD per ONE SIM card setup PER MONTH + regular SIM fees with your provider?

can you just sell the code for 50 usd and let people take care of the server themselves if it is so expensive?
imagine having 50 mobile phones, I would have to pay you 500 USD per month?

Excuse me if it sounds like im "salty", but I really wish you good luck selling it because im sure you will need all the luck possible.

Hi :) ,

over the last 2-3 months I have been working on making my own 4G proxies.

After figuring out many problems, I have finally succeeded.

Now I am strugling with making the proxies rotate, since everyone who uses 4G proxies knows
they are almost useless for mass automation without IP rotation.

My setup:

1. Raspberry Pi 4B, 4GB
2. 3 USB dongles with SIM cards:
- ZTE MF927U
- ZTE MF833V
- Huawei E5573C

I made the proxies mostly following this guide LINK (changing a couple of things, since the guide has some mistakes)

Now I am stuck at proxy rotation.

Would it be better to try to somehow use the web UI for these dongles in order to change the IP, or try to make them power cycle?

Already tried using "hub-ctrl.c" and power cycle with:
#!/bin/sh
echo "1-1.$1" > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb/unbind
echo "1-1.$1" > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb/bind

but my USB hub isnt playing along for the "hub-ctrl.c" method to work (thinking about buying a new USB hub with individual port power switching, it should work with those according to some people), and as of the power cycle, it didnt work since the ZTE MF927U and Huawei E5573C are battery powered dongles not 4G USB ethernet sticks (havent tried yet with ZTE MF883V), so they would just disconnect and reconnect and not do a proper power cycle.

If you have any advice for IP rotation or improving the current setup, please feel free to comment,
also if you have any questions about the setup or how I made it work feel free to ask.

Thank you :D

sorry not interested in buying anything curently.
atm. Im interested in figuring out how to make my setup rotate IPs.
