How to know does the programmer install any virus code if you hire him to code one app for you?

Hi guys, is a new day to start getting your wallet fat. :)

I have a question about hiring a programmer to help me code one apps in IOS and Android version. Personally i don't know coding, so how do i know does the programmer who help me code the apps, is he got went behind me and install any virus code inside the apps (such as stealing customer information / stealing the earning by installing ads or steal earning) or not?

For now, i can think of one solution is to hire another programmer to help me check the code, but it seem like i need to spent a lot of money... anyone can advise me better solution for my question?

Learn to code or hire a 3rd party to read it. You may also post the code to a programmer forum and some of them can read it for you.
 
learn some basics if u can. so u can search on google if u feel something is not right about a code. hiring another coder wouldn't cost you so much since it is just rechecking the code it does not require that much knowledge but that low level programmer might steal your code :p
 
Checking the code won't cost nearly as much as writing it will. There's very little chance someone with good reviews on any freelance sites does any fuckery like that though

Is it possible i split the code in to few different section and hand over to different programmer to check the code for me? so the checker person will not get to steal the code if the person unethical...

Sure, I guess you could, but you're being paranoid tbh. No one cares about your code. Hire a reputable freelancer from Upwork etc. and be on your way
 
Both Apple and Google run a scan of your app before publishing your app to their stores, so they could potentially flag any issues.

Another way to do it is to review the code manually and look for unknown domains or IP address. Why do this? Because most malicious code has to send its data to a server to be stored. And you can review the code base and look for any domains or IPs where requests are pushed.

There are countless way to test this.

However, the best thing to do is to higher a coder/team of coder with good reviews - they will need to protect their rep so they won't mess around.

I guess these are all i can do, just spot any domain or ip address in the code.. at least this sound simply to me...

hope the programmer i hire can be ethical one.. lol
 
Hiring someone to check the code at the end wouldn't be expensive at all.
 
OR you can do like how most companies do, which would be to split the app up into separate portions, to be coded by various parties (if you really are that paranoid). Then you can stitch it together or find someone that is able to. Takes some planning and effort/money, but would cut off your Paranoia at the head. Instead of worrying about all this.
Just a thought, please don't everyone tell me "he could just pay the checkers way less, and have one person write the code! Etc blahblah..."
 
You can decrease your costs by finding an application on CodeCanyon which is close to the final application you want
and then hire a freelancer to add the missing features.
 
Check it using antivirus + hire some freelancer to check code + do not hire cheapest coder in the net. App can be free from virus but full of bugs
 
Nobody with a sain mindset will do this. You are just too much paranoid about things. Just find high reputated dev and go from there.
