How to increase page rank?

PR normally updates every 3 months. Acquiring backlinks from high authority sites with good amount of PR will increase your webpage?s PageRank.

Googles patent on PR runs out August 2015 - so get in while they care.
The only thing that matters for PR is onbound d0follow links. Nothing else.
D0follow is now exclusively A PR and NOT a serps issue (as of JUly 2012)
But even that will mater not a jot once August 2015 comes out and Google's exclusive patent on the PR (which they bought on license from Stanford Uni) comes to an end.
Don't kid yourself that Google will give a flying frick about PR once it is public domain - cause they won't

For now -d0follow high PR links are all that matter. But don't expect SERP's rises to be in line with PR gain - the two rarely go hand in hand.
Also, remember - every URL on your site has it's own PR though their is a trickle down effect for most authority metrics if the root has high PR

nothing better than ranking 1st page with a PR n/a site, making competitors shiver and worry while banking hard :) even more so when all link intelligence tools show just 50-100 uninteresting links :)

Scritty couldn't google just renew the licence in 2015?

Madoctopus, that would drive the competitor mad :-)
Actually it happened the other way for me though, I have 1 site I'm struggling with in SERPS, even though its low comp. but then I looked at homepage yesterday and its pr4- didn't even know it had any pr!

Anyway, as for this site I started this post for, I'll get some high pr comments, and maybe guest posts?? And see if I can get some pr.

Thanks for all contributions.

So, if I would like to have PR 8, I need to have 2795522 links from PR1 websites OR just 1 link from PR10 website???
Oh my God, does it really work?... I doubt...

it pretty much works

if you can get 1 backlink from pr 10 your site would get like 7-8 at next update

The licence isn't the issue - it's the patent - and the patent is not Google's to renew. The patent belongs to Stanford University - and it is policy to allow it to go public domain in line with standard 25 year patent regulations.

that page rank calculation does not work, by the way. What, if I get only one PR8 link my site will get PR6?..If it was that easy we would all have PR7-8 sites

Not saying it works....but I came across a site a couple weeks ago that was less than a month old and had a PR5. I thought SEO Quake was messing up so i asked around. Someone people pointed out they had a tier 2 link from Google that was passing some PR.

PM if you want to check out the details. If you could find another reason as to how they did this, I would be interested in knowing.

Build Some High PR Do Follow Links To Your Websites..

Speaking about personal experience, social bookmark links gives a lot of page rank. Just don't forget to make different type of backlinks to your site, and from every good sites as possible.

There are even high pr link services but haven't tested anyone so I can't say if that will help you or not but it looks like that.

There are so many better metrics to judge a page's potential strength by. PA/DA, ACRank etc.

pa/da are THAT easy to fake it's not even funny. the algorithm seomoz uses is basic and crude, they do not have the manpower nor the brain power to make it better. i've seen PLENTY of sites with DA of 60 and above with nothing but a pure massive amount of spam links of the worst kind - scrapebox nofollow's, porn/viagra links etc. it's all over the place.

moreover that someone actually trusts *anything* from seomoz is quite puzzling. i'll only trust seomoz to sell me lube because they surely are full time wankers.

im learning how to get PR stuff and you guys teach me a lot.
will keep reading and learning. :-)

No, it won't

It will raise the theme of the site though - so ultimately, the rankings of the site

Using irrelevant keywords, or linking from unrelated sites, will of course harm your site's theming

Yes, if you're using irrelevant keyword, it wont increase your PR, but it will decrease your PR. The most important thing to do for me is page MUST load fast, you have good meta description, meta keyword to your site. It will increase your SEO score.

Just link form good ******** sites, and then link and link more and forget about any calculations.
