How to hide image description?

Hi,
Situation:
Have WordPress site that uses featured image in the start of post. This is fine.

The image has description text like ‘Blue widget. Image credit xxx’

In the Google search results it is the image description that shows up on, instead of the ‘real’ text that follows (about blue widgets).
Any ideas on How to prevent this?

um, don't add description?

Otherwise I don't think you can control it, google re-writes what they want

One way to address this issue is to update the alt text for your featured image to more accurately reflect the content of your post. Instead of including an image credit or other descriptive information that isn't directly related to the content of the post, try to provide a brief description of the post itself.

There is image related data that creators add to the image binary and google reads them. You need some image tool that can remove or update this data.

Thanks. The funny thing is that if I do a search for ‘site:mysite.com’ then it shows the image description in the search results, but if I search for my keyword it shows it correctly (taking the text from my article).

How to hide image description?
